  7. well there is an x just like all ducks there will be feeding areas that have more birds concentrated over them i mean theres divers alll over lake ontario and everylake everywhere pretty much but there will only be a few here and there and then once you find a good feeding/resting spot there will be thousands and thats where you want to be when you set up other wise the shooting will be spiratic at best....i do alot of waterfowl hunting and alot of divers until about december then i hit the big fat mallards for late season but if your goign to get into the divers match what your seeing when your scouting lake ontario you are more likely to run into oldsquaws scoters and goldeneys and buffleheads with a few bills here and there ringnecks and spoon bills are early season birds and i woudl be very suprised if you saw any at all...the goldeneye and squaws/scoters are very decoy friendly and only need 1-2doz of each when you hunt them the bills maybe 3-4doz or more to get them in as they tend to move in bigger groups... any more question feel free to ask i think the boat total for this year on divers is probably aroudn 3-4 hundred we have taken many 5 man limits out and rackign them up 30 at a time really adds them up [ Post made via Mobile Device ] [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. Blue my has not been the best for the puddle ducks but the divers and seaducks are in i live in fulton and have had to drive a half hour or so to get some shooting but the last 4-5 times we've been out we've limited out even shot a 5 man limit sunday and one bonus brant...try scouting some new areas on bad years that has been my ticket on years the birds dont seem to come. 15. yes they do seem to have a decent amount of fish in the lakes just averaging smaller than lake O. and i do launch at deans cove when i am waterfowling but i heard that the good fishing is down at taughannock in the deep water so that is were i went....is it just as decent at deans and the other park up farther it would cut about 40 mins off my drive if i end back down there from weekend winds again. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  16. well i am from fulton and normally fish the big pond seeing it is only 5 minutes away but with the west wind all weekend it was too rough for my 19footer so we took the hour drive to cayuga to fish down there because i read some great reports taht made it soudn like you could do no wrong. so we gave it a try. we ended up going 3 for 5 for a hour and a half worth of fishing...all three were lakers that were in the 5-7lb range and suprisingly put up really good fights one even jumped 3 or 4 times...i have never seen lake trout fight so good all the ones we get in lake ontario come up like boots...granted i sitll would rather catch some big kings but we settled for cayuga cause of the wind and didnt do bad....started with tthe riggers at 90 70 and 50 and the dipsy at 175ft caught all the fish on flashers and flys between 45 and 60 ft....idk how deep we were my depth finder **** the bed on me last week and i just got it back today we just kinda drove circles haha launch outa south west state park idk how to spell it tanaughcok or somthing. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  17. well my buddies and i have been going out for them the last few weeks and are by now means good...to be honest were a mess we dont have a depth finder cause my **** the bed on me and have been running 3 riggers with flashers adn flies and free slider spoons.....we caught our first kings the first week of july outa oswego we got a bunch of skippys and a couple nice teens and 3 nice majors and a few cohos and steelies mixed in...they have all been deep 140-150 ft down idk how deep we were fishing we jsut go find other boats and jump in the mix......but if our mess of an fishing excuse can catch them you guys will jsut keep at it white on white spin doc and atomic has been good for us along with chrome on chrome. good luck
