i'm wondering why alewife imitations, such as streamers or huskyjerks, rigged like you do when sac drifting wouldn't work better than eggs since the salmonoids have just come from the Lake where they've been sucking up the wives all year. What you all think?

"HOT DOGS" booked Brennen Beach campsite Sept 7,8,9,10. We like fishing the estuary off our 20ft Bayliner using egg sacs while anchored along wall by homes opposite ramp. Which brings me to this question: Whats up with that ramp by the light house? First of all last year we paid to use it but it was a chore to find someone to pay. Others told us you don't need to pay and we watched guys launch without seeing them go to the so-called "owner" who we paid. And the ramp really sucks! But it's nice and close to where we anchor up.

Anybody know how close to Salmon River estuary the salmon are?

Hey guys. In case anyone wonders about my user name - huskyjerk = its the name of a Rapala lure that has been the "go to" item for our hybred stripers here in PA. I have caught many a good fish on them. They seem to imitate the alewives pretty good in Beltzville Lake. So there you have it. I'm not husky and I don't think I'm a jerk. Although my wife has called me that name a few times when I missed an appointment because I fished too long. David

is it legal to use an underwater attractant light to bring in herring then while light is still lit, catch the herring and use them for bait, like we do here in PA for stripers, walleye,bass and frankly all species of game fish David

Hey do I have a story for you. On my yearly Canada trip to Bob's Lake I could not accomplish my usual extended slow trolling activity due to vapor lock. I found if I took off the cowling it would troll fine. Ambient temp was the problem. My 2009 EFI 150 at idle trolling just got too hot under the collar so to speak. Mercury Inc suggested adding lots on Quickleen to my 82gal tnk. One of my ideas was to run the gas line thru a sytraform box filled w/ice {like we did when we had a drag car. the other was to have a custom car body shop fashion an air scoop or louvered area on the front of the cowling neither suggestion has been accomplished yet since im away on a non fishing vac to Gettysburg Pa. I WAS PISSED AT THE VAPOR LOCK ON A 'NEW' 10K+ ENGINE
