  1. So I am going to keep this some what simple but yet the entire day will be summed up!! Knew the wind was gonna blow and blow good didn't care knew the rain was moving in and didn't care was going fishing rain snow or shine!!! And what a day started out fast paced and stayed fast paced was a slaughter all on finger lakes tackle both spoons and flashers, so to sum it up we got the slam and many more best words wow and insane... Can't wait for the next trip

  2. Seneca can be tough at times typically that's not the case this time of year fishing can be very very good the south end is definitely consistent fishing and the brown fishing was phenomenal last winter hoping for it again this winter and lakers can just about be caught as one pleases.. Finger lakes tackle spoons worked for me as well and then flasher fly combos are usually good it can be tough getting lures past the dinks in the top 20ft but fish through them and you should be rewarded I'm in the woods tomorrow but will be on the lake Sunday I will make sure to put a post up with how it goes!!

  3. I mainly fish Seneca and that was awesome last year many options for launches to fish different winds also I fish Cayuga owasco keuka canadaigua I fish a 18' sport craft and although I don't claim to be completely sane and I will fish some real winds I was not blown off a lake all year and the few trips I did make to Ontario lucky all were pleasant but one day with 5footers owasco is nice Cayuga is a joke now with the lamprays fish run small in my opinion when compared to other finger lakes, keuka has insane numbers but so many fish that the bigger ones are very hard to get!! My choice is Seneca it is also the closest for me to fish

  4. I am also a 22-250 fan I have shot yotes with that and also along with the 204,223,22mag and even my .17 I have a savage model 93 with bill barrel and thumb hole stock and I upgraded the scope as well and at 100 yards I can comfortably say just about anyone could hit a tab on a can, but with respect for the animal that is a caliber I would not recommend when it comes to ethics and clean effective kills!! 22-250 all the way in my book

  5. Keep'n,

You're killing me! We quit precicely when we drove into the south area with all the fish!

haha sorry about that one, but fished in front of the white rock just kept making passes up and down the east side from where the 70fow drop meets the east side to where the big cove cuts back I did venture to the west side got are lunker bow for the day in te middle then did a few others on the west side then went back across and got right back into lakers and bows I was using flt spoons deepest lure was 85 on the rigger and it fired steady other wise it was cores coppers and high dipsy stayed busy. I would post pics of the lures but won't let me for some reason keeps saying contact a staff member

yeah your right mike a few of us do fish all winter and a few of us will be pounding fish on flt spoons and don't worry we will send both you and bobby pics hahaha
  7. Way to go les awesome awesome have to love those 10+ I was fortunate last year on Seneca and got 2 have been unable to break 10 this year reading all your reports, are really starting to make me look forward to my trip out their at the end of the month! How much longer will you be on the water ways this season

  8. Keuka lakers are super tasty, advisory or not. One of the places that keeping as many as you legally can actually HELPS the ecosystem. There are still some big ones. My buddy hooked a slob we never saw. Lost it and reeled in a 12 inch or so half digested baby laker. Hook musta missed the big guy and lodged in the little guy stuck in his gullet.

i agree their is some decent fish in their just have to fish through the 3lb fish 1 in every 50 is about 8lbs in my experiences
  9. Come on Ed your running out of time we are all waiting for that report with the last biggen of the year!!!!! And I will have the reports coming all winter my boat hits the lake in the snowy weather months as well as the sunny summer ones fish somewhere every weekend. Streams and or lakes, if you get cabin fever let me know the offer is their you may have to deal with that nick guy to though!! Haha

  10. Ed I did really well in 115fow green and white spoons deep on the riggers for the lakers but also had a good rainbow bite yesterday fishing spoons 40to80 down deep deep flasher fly bite was good to. So guess I'm just saying fishing was pretty good haha but boy oh boy did it rain I was wetter then the fish!!! Good luck!!!

  11. Well was back on good ol Seneca today for one of the last two finger lakes tournaments sad to see the season coming to a end!! Well launched out of Sampson early and headed to the location... Was not long and, before the sun came up had the first smack on a rigger but no hook up. Well we marked a lot of fish while still dark so decided to stick with it and see what happened when the sun came up and turned out to be a good choice first fish was a nice 3.5lbs bow that came on the spoon dipsy 135 out on a 3 setting pulling a flt alewife spoon and that started the bows got a few other decent ones all released kept hoping for something other then a bow made a few circles with a very steady pic of fish and then got a small salmon on flt custom have to love your own ideas working.. Well made one more pass and got a another 3lbs bow I made the decision to leave that area even catching fish I was not wanting to beat up the bows and the size was just not their the crew may have been upset but we started to search for the lakers and didn't take long to put 3 in the box and start looking for upgrades first solid fish came on a grease trap set at 132 on the rigger lost it just behind the boat right after that the 270 dipsy doubled over dropped that fish to reset the rods and same thing rigger dipsy fire fire both landed both small had a steady pic of lakers for the rest of the morning just no size. Well left at noon to head to weigh in not expecting the best after last week with Sean from reel hooked up bring 27lbs in and knowing we had nothing nothing like that, but had a surprise and a lot struggled with the weather ended up getting 2nd place and interested what the next tournament brings!!! Congrats to all that fished these events never get old.

  12. That is a awesome story that's the wonders of hunting!! I just had a talk yesterday with a guy that wanted to argue that the only good part of hunting is shooting a animal I argued with him that that's only 2% of the hunt the other 98% is all the work that goes into it the anticipation leading up to, and the fellowship of it all about the memories made and time spent with the ones we care about. This story is a true hunt!!!
