  1. I know in the original post it was asked about someplace close to Watkins and Screwie Lewie's has been suggested and it is near Fairhaven which is quite a distance. I had my Cannons serviced there a couple years ago and I was able to ship them there (from Canandaigua) and have them shipped back and it wasn't all that bad price-wise as I recall. I'd ask them if you can do that still. They were real nice folks and reasonable.

definitely the way to go or take a road trip up and pick up some other gear to gotta get that new stuff for the spring great people up
  2. Well I towed the boat around all weekend and only used it once got to the ramp Friday morning an was greeted with a solid 1" of ice helped a guy break the ramp up and he proceeded to go out would drive his boat up on the ice it would break and he would repeat the process the whole time had alarms sounding on the boat I saw his truck was gone in the afternoon so I assume all went well I went goose hunting instead lol! Well Saturday was more of the same for me I am not yet willing to run the boat through ice so I visited with some friends in town talked some fishing with some guys that came off the lake and heard some slow days anyways! So wake up Sunday to sunny skies have breakfast relax for a hour or so and start making some calls yep ramps clear all the way so get to the ramp about 11 had nick and bill on board, mr mike was busy playing on the ice!!!! So we set sail got the rods in and boom tripled up lost 1 of the 3 well the mid day bite was actually really good for sunny skies wind was a little chilly but still nice to be out went 13 for 15 or so all browns but 1 rainbow good to be out!!post-147332-13944483265895_thumb.jpg

  3. Great re-cap les, sounded right on the money to me! And I do also agree with the need for more data that is the obvious and I guess in a way easiest answer to where and what fish we get, but also with the diaries I feel that a wide variety of fisherman are needed and from my own observations it seems as though the most willing participants are also the same people that are not exactly novices and seem to consistently put fish on the deck, and I am not discrediting or putting anyone down I my self am not a diary member as of right now but I feel their could be a slight maybe confidence problem noone wants to feel judged nor should they be judged, times have changed techniques have changed lures have improved sonars have improved and not all are willing to change with the times and they should not be forced to or guided in any direction but the one they choose. So I guess what I am trying to say is I don't want to see a miss guiding on the diaries!! When mr. rabbit puts up he caught 17 browns one morning and I go and get 1 and sunfish I have to stand behind that info and say was it something I did wrong was the weather different or the fish "gone"!

  4. Well it's been just over a month since the boat last saw the water I was worried maybe it forgot how to catch fish, or maybe that I had forgotten to lol but luckily managed to find a few fish that became easily influenced into chopping a few lures! Saturday morning started slow but with good quality fish but as the day went on the bite got better with a bonus pike and today was a good day as well and once again with the bonus pike that's at least one pike each trip for the last 3 trips this could be a good sign as pike fishing goes that is. I don't fish often for the toothy critters anymore but do enjoy seeing them show up and chomping on some flt Spoons!!! Just nice to be back out on the water can't wait for the next trip..post-147332-13932035708721_thumb.jpgpost-147332-13932036016166_thumb.jpgpost-147332-13932036379111_thumb.jpg

  5. I don't think it's even close to the same thing so what if you tell a fellow fisherman a ramp is clear it's not like your giving him coordinates on the lake to your favorite are or "whole" on the lake. And with the weather yesterday I expected more guys to be honest. Good luck to all that make it out and be safe expecting to at least see some reports.

  6. I ran the noodle rods last year just I had fly reels on them the one to one ration on a medium arbor reel was tough to keep up with rainbows when they decided to play. But I did pull some nice lakers from down deep

On them 120 to 140ish made for a lot of fun! As many have said ugly stick lights I use the 8'3"s and have ha no problems
