  1. Come on Jason.. How he chooses to hold his fish is his decision that's what makes the catch appealing to him some guys like the "shark" or "shot gun" pose I think it's pretty cool my self the report is the meat and potatoes that's the part that matter and he was kind enough to put that up the pictures are just the after dinner dessert! I take pictures from every direction in the air and on the floor it's all about what's appealing to you at the time!!!!! post-147332-14055130312446_thumb.jpgpost-147332-14055131045305_thumb.jpgpost-147332-14055131490495_thumb.jpgpost-147332-14055131758687_thumb.jpgpost-147332-14055132304469_thumb.jpgpost-147332-14055133354006_thumb.jpg

  6. Well as it is most weekends planned on fishing both days so fishing we did! Went into the weekend getting ready for the flta tournament on Seneca. So picked nick up and off we went to Sampson to do a little searching! Hit the water about 5.45 and was about 6 when the lines were in the water! And by 6.30 we had the Seneca grand slam rainbow! Laker! Salmon! And a beauty brown!!! The bite would continue to be fast and furious with hot presentation being a free sliding cheater on a 48 rigger!!! Well we covered some water jumped from spot to spot scouting trying to find some quality lakers to go with the silvers for the flta tournament!!! Off the water around noon with around 25 fish and that was with me losing lots of fish that happens from time to time I guess!!!! Well had the same crew back on the boat that helped me win this very tournament last year they met me at 3.30 and we were on the road picked nick up

Got coffee and ice and off to Sampson we go. Wind was whipping pretty good and waves had already started building by 5.00 when we got to the ramp crew was still ready to rock and roll and that we did in more ways then one lol.. Well set up in the same area as the previous morning just this time we had a full spread in the water 3,5,7 color cores 1,2 and 300 coppers 2 divers and 2 riggers and cheaters on the riggers well it didn't take long and the first fish was on my side rigger at 55 while fighting that the 120 diver goes then the 300 copper followed by the 200!!! 10 min in and we have a quad yes yes yes well it turns out that lakers invaded the fishing grounds all 4 would come in as grease balls well the fish would continue to fly over the side of the boat. We enjoyed the gentle roll of the north troll a little longer then planned but knew what the south troll would be like with the building waves well we went and spun around and started the trip back south not sure what the currents were doing but can say noticed a huge difference in fish catches from the north to the south trolls both days!!! Well nick was changing some lures and Brandon was tuning his skills at setting gear as well when the cheater in the down rigger got killed sky ward came the bow and then went the other way snapping us off that was a good fish but happens.. Well the morning would be much of the same lots of actions on north trolls and pick a few fish on south trolls. Decided we needed to make a move even in the rough water decided to run to the spot we found some good lakers the day before and just try for big guys since the silvers did not agree to play today well it was not long and fish on them another and another upgrading 1 of the fish we ha in the cooler knowing we had the quality lakers that we wanted I went in to weigh in hoping for the best since we didn't not have a 10lb average for lakers or the 2 silvers we wanted that's all we could do! Well ended up with 21.8 for the 3 lakers giving us 4th place!!! A big thank you to nick for the help with the waves and wind and the fishing being fast at times it's a huge help to have someone on board that you fish with all the time and do not have to even communicate with when things are going on just knows what needs to be done and does itpost-147332-14052960405893_thumb.jpgpost-147332-14052960568766_thumb.jpgpost-147332-14052960661004_thumb.jpg! Thanks agin to nick Brandon and Britt for the help today and good job to all that fished on this windy day

  7. Thank you for the compliments on the boat. :) We have been doing a lot of work to her this year, and have more planned as we can afford the repairs. She's about to get a full scrub down and wax as soon as I get time, and some equipment upgrades as well. So, she will be making the trip back to the shop in Elmira for a couple days, then back to Seneca Sun, possible Sat. for the Seneca Challenge.

I am assuming you must live by me. I live where the boat has been parked the last couple days. (not going into too much detail) As you can see, we can't get her to the house to work on her, so she has to make the trip to Elmira when I need to work on her. If you are out and have some free time, stop and introduce yourself. Always good to know your neighbors, especially if they fish!

    Jason

hey Jason yes brad fishes he is a good friend to have!!! He has spent some time on both boats I have had set up for fishing the only problem with brad is he has a horrible habit of losing some big fish right at the boat!! Hahaha
  8. They are in the 50% of the lake, THAT NO ONE FISHES MUCH. Up here on Lake Ontario we have become spoiled, in the fact that we can usually catch all we want within a few miles of shore. From 10 miles off shore and beyond, out of any port on either side, not many people spend too much time fishing. This leaves around 3500 square miles of lake, that only has a few hours of fishing time per week in it! Those of us that do fish out there, might not have the time or any reason to make reports to all the other fishermen WHO WON'T SPEND THE GAS TO GO THERE AND LOOK ON THEIR OWN!

I am not happy about having to spend an additional $100- $150 per trip to run my charters out so far.....My bottomline is taking a hit for sure. But I sure am grateful that I don't run a business on the Atlantic, where the Captains would love to only have to run 20 miles every day!

I am not catching limits of 25 lb. kings on every trip out there....in fact, I haven't boated an honest 20 lber all year , yet...18's and 19's, yes....12-15's, a plenty...no 20 pluses for the Waterwolf though...

Good thing for the 10-12 steelhead and coho we get on every day out there, they are saving our sss looking for the motherlode of mature kings.

The wind changing every day all season isn't helping us much, what we find today, is gone tomorrow.... every day out of the gate is a brand new search.....

Lots of square miles out there without a boat in it.....you can't really call a friend, when all of them are staying together in no king zone, crying the blues about "where are the kings", as they beat up lake trout and browns in skinny water.....

That's ok though, we have already booked two new customers who were upset that they booked a SALMON charter, and went lake trout fishing, they would rather get skunked fishing for what they want, than hear excuses from their Captain about why he isn't going where they are....

this has to be one of the best post I have ever got to read on here!!!! Hell even us finger lakes guys are making runs that are 60 miles round trip sometimes even twice a day to be on consistent fishing!!
  9. Seeing you have to turn around made my wife and I feel really bad for ya! Glad you made it out and congratulations on a fat catch, quick thinking on filling live well!

needed some tools from the truck and I was ready to fill the boat to get under that bridge lol. And nicks bachelor party is this weekend so I may not be in the best of fishing conditions other wise yes I have a whole new confidence level on that lake after that tournament.

    Joe

  10. I was ready to put it in the trailer lol but bill and butch kept insisting on sticking to the plan lol!!! Thanks les we do are best... And Sean I would with pleasure but not going to lie knowing I can get under the bridge is a nice piece of mind if the water drops 3 inches I will be golden next time with no problems at all

  11. Well I launched in the land of the low bridge and after removing some rod holders and basically sinking my own boat on purpose we were fishing! Had buddy's butch and bill on board ran a little south spun around and fished back north rand spoon divers riggers cores and coppers. Fishing was fast paced all day pretty much lots and lots of lake trout and tons of small salmon and even one thy was just over 3lbs after getting 4 fish for a limit I started changing things up looking for the big ones and as the sun got high the lures changed up and the riggers change mixed some cores around pulled a copper and a short core added 2 more deep dipsys and kept beating up fish after fish!! All 9 rods caught fish steady if the bite died on one change the lure and back in the game did find one combo that stayed in all day only had 2 rips on it but both were the fish I was hunting one was lost the other found its way to the boat nice 7 or 8ish laker not sure how big the other was but acted like the same size.. For a quantity day it was fantastic over 40 fish with 9 lures in the water we were 3 very busy fellows had a lot of fun. Damage was done on paddles and flt spoons can't say enough about the flt spoons!! Congrats to all that fish pretty sure all had a fun day considering the bite plain and simple was on fire. Sorry no pics this trip.
