  1. Beautiful fish David!...the lake looks mean, how big is your boat, mine is an 18 footer, dont think it would handle those waves well Hope your friend enjoyed that beautiful fish
  2. Thanks, I have not looked into the engin compartment yet, will do that and see if there is any place. I looked at the track system from Cannon and if I can figure out how to install it without messing up the fiberglass then it should work good as it would be removable so I can use the boat for skiing , tubing ets Appriciate your input ....thanks!
  3. Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Cannon Mag 5 electric downrigger and have been trying to figure out how to install it on my Four Winns 183 F&S. Its a all fiberglass boat with a large transom area with no underneath access and the rails are too narrow for the base. If anyone has any ideas please let me know Thanks
  4. Thanks , I will ask the question there and see if I get any ideas

The weather sucked, it even snowed so didnt get a chance to go on the water.....maybe next week....still trying to figureout where and how to install the cannon downrigger....I have a Fish and Ski fiberglass boat and was wondering if its posible to install it on the transom nit sure if it will be strong enough as there is no access to reinforce it from underneath If you have any suggestions would love to hear....thanks!
  6. Sounds Great Capt. Larry, I am sure you will enjoy your trip and will catch a lot of fish. I have not been back for many years but am sure the fishing will still be pretty good Have a great weekend M
  7. Hi David, Looks like you guys had a great day on the water. Those are wonderful pictures. I am new to trout fishing on Lake Ontario, infact it will be my first year to try it out. I have been waiting patiently and wondering when I should dewinterize my boat and put it in the water and try out some Lake Trout action. After reading your post I am very tempted to get the boat ready tomorrow and take it for some fishing on Sunday if the weather holds up. I will probably put it in the water at Scarborough Bluffs. If you have any pointers that will help a newbie, it will be greatly appriciated. All the best M
  8. Hi Capt Larry, Thanks for your reply and welcome note I did most of my fishing in the Portland and Eugene areas in Oregon State, USA. Mainly caught Steelles, Trout and Salmon in the Willamatte and Santiam rivers there, and also fished many small rivers for trout, its an awsome place to fish. I am looking forward to getting into Lake trout and Salmon fishing in Lake Ontario and am looking forward to getting the boat into the water soon. I have never fished for Muskies but have heard that they are a lot of fun to fish for too. Maybe I can try that one of these too. Have a wonderful day M
  9. Name: M Location:Toronto Home Port:Scarborough Bluffs Boat Name/Type:Four Winns 183 F & S I fish for: Salmon, Steel, Lake trout ================== Hi everyone, I got the fishing bug last year and now I am a proud owner of a boat and have equipped it with a Cannon downrigger and am all set for the fishing season to begin. I have fished for Stealhead on the west coast off the river banks and some ice fishing but have no experience in Lake fishing and trolling. Would love to get some pointers on the subject and if anyone in the area would like to go on the boat with me and show me how its done ... that would be great! Let the fishing begin.....
