why would you plan a trip on april 1st bonehead

I would rather be chasing 100lb. tarpon on April 1st over spending April 1st chasing trout on amateur day.

when the guy says unfortunately . i wont be able to go it sure sounds like he enjoys amateur day doesn't it. DOESN'T IT????? LOL i would rather be going for the tarpon also myself but have to stick to the streams around here to get a line in

why would you plan a trip on april 1st bonehead

Went out of watkins village marina at 8am and trolled north along west side up to saltplant, then back down to harbor for a few hours. managed 5 LLs - one was 6lbs, rest were 2-4lbs. Ran all spoons - had 2 riggers down 60 & 80 with cheaters, 2 leadcores and 2 flat lines off planer boards. only the lead cores took fish. trolled at 1.8-2.2mph and orange or red spoons with gold backs took all fish. No action on green or anything below 30ft. Water is stained and most debris is on east side of the lake. good conditions, got some fish in the boat and it was great to be out on the water again!
