  1. Fished owasco today. Marked fish early in 150 to 170 foot of water. most were suspended around 100. Trolling produced a skunk. Lockjaw is in order. Managed to jig up one for dinner but that was it. Disappointed in the fishing but nice day on the water. marked lots of bait.Fished around ensonor.

  2. That pretty beagle looks just like my last one. He would run cottontails and whites all day on 3 legs. Great pictures bring back fond memories. Has he ever run hares. If the grubs  or white flecks are only in the liver all is fine . I have eaten plenty and i am 73. If they were cooked good it wouldnt matter anyway. I fillet mine now so id ont see any spots. Fillet out the back loin and skin just the 2 hindlegs and cut off. No guts and no smell. If you shoot one and it has fleas on it just let it lay until its cold or pick up on your wayback and the fleas will be gone. Get um!

  3. Fished Cayuga yesterday out of the park.Trolled north for 2 hours and only 1 dink salmon and 1 dink laker. Jigged my favorite laker areas which are normally hot right now with no success. Lots of bait but very few marks on bottom. Talked to 2 other parties and they got the skunk. Must be the lamps are taking its toll on the bigger fish, Will be interesting to hear what the dec says about the egg netting next month.

  4. Launched out of t-park and ran 2 downriggers for salmon north but only short ones. then went to my gigging spot. Put 6 in the boat and lost a lot. Enclosed picture of hog that engulfed the jig into his gullet. Decided to take a self portrait with the camera clipped to the windshield and put the camera on 10 second delay. It was quite choppy so i didnt know if it would come out.Trout measured 32 and weighed in at 12.2. It was a wild trout and bright orange flesh and was also really firm for an old guy. Trout would not have survived if put back. 4 fish has lamp marks and 3 were clean. 85 feet best today

  5. All 3 lakers that i kept  had nice  flesh, especially the native which was real orange. The native had no lamp marks either where the other 2 did and one had a lamper on it when netted. All fish were just stuffed with sawbellys.Quite a treat on light tackle.

  6. Launched out of the park and trolled to rocky dock for salmon with no takers, only a couple small lakers. I then went to my jigging spots and had good results. Put 5 in the boat and lost quite a few, My wife took the enclosed pictures. Two had lamp marks and one attached and the darker laker was a wild fish at 30 inches. Caught on 1.5 jig head with white ice tube and chartuse 2 inch berkley grub. Did not mark a lot of fish but enough. A lot of the time you wont see them until they come up after the jig. Beautiful day

  7. Wat to go alex.I can visulizze your report with the trout meeting jig.. I like owasco because its not crowed and the launch is easy. Used to be some big browns in there. Dont see the picture. Do you launch at emerson or southside.

  8. Wat to go Hermit! Sounds like you jigged some beautys I.jigged around long point yesterday but only found the small ones. Water was quite milky. Went down across from sheldrake but no trout although the water clarity was much better. Left a little early because of the heat. Thanks for the report.

  9. Thanks a lot for answering my question. When i was a kid we used to fish at night in a boat with a latern over the side. The sawbellys would come up to the light and we would dip net them then put one on a english rig and send it down just under the school. Caught some nice lakers in those days. Today i mostly just jig and mayby run a couple lines for salmon Jigged a couple wild lakers yesterday across from the plant on opposite side. One was clean and the other had a lamp mark. Also caught a nice clean stocky.I pretty much use a 1.5 oz tube jig with a white ice tube. Good luck jigging.

  10. The laker jigging will be hot when you are there.1 -1.5 ounce jig heads with a tube should get the job done. Like alec said 100 feet of water should be a good start. Sometimes 120 is even better.Any of the points near the falls where it drops off should be productive and just south of the salt plant too.I think Alec sells jigs if you need weight.Good luck and have fun.

  11. Trolled from camp to rockydock without any action with 2 riggers. Lots of weed beds and current. Then the wind picked up bigtime. Time to hunt for some jigging lakers. Found some in the 90 foot area and the fun began. Landed 7 beauties and lost quite a few. 3 has big eels attached. Most fish were around 28 with one beauty at 30. The wind was rentless so verticle giging was impossible but i waited until the gig hit bottom, gave it a couple snaps and then started reeling. A lot of line out under the boat but it works. No pictures because i was alone. Would have taken a self portrait but not in that wind.
