We went 3 for 5 on browns on the north side of Stoney. A lot of bait and some reel nice hooks on the screen. All browns came on riggers and blue dolphin stingers from 25-40 in 60 - 80 fow. Ended up trying for lakers between the islands, no bait , no hooks, no fish.

What part?

What's the width of that? What boat did it come off of?

Thanks Rich D!

New to trolling for salmon and trout. Could someone please explain to me where the trench and finger are out of Henderson? I am familiar with the islands out there but not those two areas. I have been looking for some kind of picture or photo to help me out. Any help is appreciative, thanks!

I don't think there are a lot of Canadians on here. There is another site that I think is Canadian based. It is www.spoonpullers.com Good luck

Kevin did you go out of Stoney creek in Henderson?

I have used shad raps before with success. I don't see why not.

What dates are available. I need references and is there a website?
-
When do they start? And how long do they last? What is the best way to avoid them? What not to do?

Do these hold up to riggers or dipseys?

Looks like I am getting a cable. Thanks guys. Man I love this site.

Thanks gator.

Do the scotty plastic flushmount rod holders hold up for salmon fishing when your running divers or riggers?
-
Thanks Jolly. I guess it is a matter of just doing it and yes the weather is the most important. I live in clayton, ny. Do you or anybody for that matter monitor a specific weather site? I have a marine radio so I listen to that but is there one on the web that gives marine forecasts for the Mexico/ Oswego area?

I have a trophy 1802wa. The steering on it is original in 1996. The steering is tight I greased it there is no pinches in the cable. It seems to steer harder in one direction than the other. Confused?

Thanks guys. Gave me a lot to think about.

Great site! A buddy took me out for spring browns last year and we couple a few. We also went out for salmon during the summer and got some. Well now I am hooked. I don't really have the boat to fish out in the lake but I can for spring browns (trophy 1802wa). I have riggers and a planer mast but my question is on reel and rod choice. Can I get away with 20 series reels or is that to lite. What would be the backing and leader of choice? Also what size rod? I was leaning towards a 8'6 rod. Fishing mostly planers but would like something I can put on the riggers as well. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

How long of a run is that FH? There were multiple boats of the head of galoo on Sunday. Would like to hear a report cause I am heading out there Sunday.
