  1. Broiled Butterfly Trout are great with sweet potato fries
  2. I don't work for them. Just do reviews as part of my fishing tips and tricks. Have a great year fishing. WillCFish <"{{{}}><
  3. Sounds good. We use a lot of Kastmaster's and that works good too.
  4. My son found we had forgot the flour on a fishing trip so he tried the pizza crust mix. Use with milk for a thicker mix. It is now a favorite.
  5. Yup! I knew it was Howie lures and couldn't remember it at first. Any time I had trouble with a certain release popping I would put on a Mauler and problem solved.
  6. http://www.in-fisherman.com/2011/12/20/night-checks-king/ They are very popular on the Great Lakes. http://b2b.maurice.net/itemdetails.aspx?page=search&pageview=item&item_id=10064302
  7. They had the bait caster on a spinning rod. Both are nice but not a good combination. Free is good though and I like them but will move the reel to a different rod.
  8. Don, This is how they had it paired up. Is this what they are using for a rod with this reel or did they just get the wrong combo put together for the contest?
  9. The lure is naturally going to stay at the peak of the arc created by the drag of the water. LongLine is right, Through a little trial and error you will be able to tell at what point behind the boat for the line to disappear into the water and the amount of bend in the downrigger rod.. You want to get a hook set as soon as possible but yet not trip the lure on the downrigger. I like the lightweight flutter spoons for stackers/cheaters because they put off so little drag.
  10. My review of the rod and reel I won. Pretty nice outfit.
  11. I like flutter spoons like the lightweight Mauler.
  12. You will often see people testing rods in the sporting goods isles. There are some things you can look for.
  13. I have used this for over 20 years and it works great.
  14. I have found if the line is cut close the fish will dissolve the hook most of the time.
  15. While Bass fishing I snagged into this small snapper. It almost got me and I wanted to lift it into the boat but my wife reminded me how much they smell. We remembered our brother in law showing his V-shaped 3" black and blue bruise on his back from a 12 pound snapper he caught turtle trapping. He had it slung over his back and it bit right through the gunny sack. This was just a little guy but it coulda put some hurt on me if he got a finger.
  16. Wild Turkey Hen eats a worm in regular speed, slow motion and still pics. Also a Tom Turkey videod at 200 yards struts and displays.
  17. Here is a good bass I caught on a Husky Jerk.
  18. Here is a lure I like for smallmouth.
  19. Thanks Chas0218, I saw a guy gun a big inboard one day showing off and he was trimmed up. It went straight up in the air and straight down in the water with aft submerged. Him and a passenger hanging on. Another boat near by came to their rescue but I'll bet the engine sucked in a lot of water.
  20. You're welcome Iceman. With long winters it's a great hobby.
  21. I agree Trout Bum. If it can go through the loop it's Palomar all the way. Otherwise I use a Trilene knot of Improved Clinch.
  22. Most of my stuff is geared for beginners that may not want to or be able to spend $20. Thanks for the info on Netcraft have an inexpensive tool. It's much better than the price of what I saw.
