  1. I found the first couple of weeks of the derby was way better than the last 3 weeks. You don't even see any fish in the top 10 for the last couple of weeks from the credit. Why is this? I've caught alot of fish but big ones are few and far between. I know it's not just me. Maybe they don't stock them there as much anymore? Do all the salmon that are being cuaght the last 5 weeks at Bluffers an Whitby come to the Credit? So many questions. We are not short on rainbows that's for sure!
  2. Well my first meat experince went OK. The fish are pretty picky this week! I caught only two on Wednesday on lures, bite slowed and I tried the reys anchovie thing. I had a hit but did'nt hook it. Yesterday the only thing I had hits on was the anchovie. I had three hits and none of them hooked. No matter where I place the hook. Do you guys change the hooks on those rigs? But at least I know it worked when lures, no matter what I tried, were get turned down. I'm optimistic about this!
  3. Hi, I keep the shaker salmon for eats, does anyone eat the 20+ ones? Are they polluted as bad as people say they are? I usally tell people Lake Ontario is cleaner than the majority of lakes up north. How big in size is the limit you would eat? When they are silver of course. I assume if it's a 30 pounder a smoker is probably the best way? Thanks!
  4. i've heard the term before, whats a twinkie? an anchovie?
  5. cool thanks. will give them a go tomorrow!
  6. thanks for the help. which heads are better? anchovie, strip or the bigger cut herring ones? thanks
  7. Hi, just wondering what the best set up for meat is. I bought an anchovie head and a large strip head, got some bait too. I assume both behind a flasher is good? Do you ever troll the large alone? Thanks for any tips.
  8. one charter got 35 fish on the opener with lots over 20 lbs off the credit. he must have been wayyyyyy out there. i saw the pics, crazy.
  9. We got 6 on the opener off the credit and 4 yesterday, nothing huge but there's 3 on the leader boards off the credit. 5 rainbow, 4 kings, 1 brown was the 2 day total. black and green spoons were working good for us.
  10. lulz I broke one off when my buddy hit a fish and i tugged a wee bit hard on the release of my rod. which was wrapped around it. There's a black/green NK on the bottom. Sacrifice to the fish gods!
  11. I dunno about the size, my scale battery died of course. 20-25lb I'd say.
