  2. you cant tie the same knots in wire, youre supposed to use a figure 8knot or a wire line knot, crimps are a thing of the past most guys dont use them anymore. Crimps make a weak spot at the crimp in your wire. You dont tie wire to fluoro either I tie it right to a swivel, that attaches directly to your dipsy. I only use wire for my dipsy rods, reason is the fleas fall right off. In the middle of summer with braid fleas can pile up so thick you cant reel pole in and end up losing fish while youre cleaning line. I gave up on flea flicker also for my downrigger rods, now i just use 30# big game, less twist that flea flicker just gives me headaches. hope that halps.

  3. I am interested in picking up an Okuma Solterra SLR50W for a Copper for an 800 Copper. Seems like a decent reel, but price maybe to cheap to be quality. I don't want junk and already have Shimano Tekota 800 for a copper 500' so is this as good as a shimano? Anyone that Owns a Solterra SLR50W and used for copper let me know your opinion or a better optionfor a big copper. Thanks -Matt

  4. I use 8' and 8'6" downrigger rods on my trout rods and salmon, for riggers and dipseys. I dont have outriggers so not sure if guys go bigger for those. If you like the Cabelas depthmasters, you have to get the GOLD SERIES DEPTHMASTER reels, they cost more than regular depthmastersbut the Gold series reels are lifetime warranty. Strip gears after 5 years and send reel back to Cabelas and they"ll send you a new reel. Daiwa and Okuma warranties are limited warranties from what I know, They are still good reels though.

  5. I have 2 adjustable aluminum quad rod holders. These are professionally welded and custom made with saltwater quality. The mounting base is approx. 5 ½†in height. The rod holder main arm is 24†long. Each individual rod holder is adjustable up/down and left/right and there is 2 mounting heights from mounting base. The rod holders adjust by ratchet/socket and are coated with black rubber to not scratch reels. These are in new unused condition. These could work for spider rigging, drifting, or trolling.

I want to sell as a pair and do not want to separate. I am asking $225.00 or best offer. I am interested in trades for reels, rods, or a salmon net, very interested in an electric Scotty Downrigger for trade. Any reasonable trade or offer considered. wll trade rod holders plus cash for item of greater value.

  6. I have a pair of brand new aluminum quad rod holders for sale or trade. Had them made, paid $100 a piece plus shipping so $225, then sold my walleye boat and dont have room to mount them on the new boat. they would be great for someone soaking bait/jigging, walleye flatlining, or salmon fishing. They are all adjustable up/down an left/right, and they come off the mounting base. They do need to be adjusted by wrench/ratchet, but once you have them the way you want them you don't have to worry about them moving. The rod holders are coated with rubber spray paint to not scratch reels. Since they have never been mounted or used I would like $200 or Trade for used Salmon gear Or Best cash Offer. I will take for trade Spoons, spindoctors, flashers, stickbaits, used trolling reels, etc. would like to sell in person to make sure theyre what you expect and to not deal with shipping. please call or text Matt 315)877-2041
