  1. Ha ha, funny you say that about practice, my daughters had 2 practices, 1 outside and 1 at the batting cages, Saturday at 1pm is there first game:thinking: this ought to be interesting to say the least!!. Fortunately for them they are playing as fill in, for another team that has there first game Saturday, as the other team only has 7 girls and didn’t want to forfeit their first game.

The nice thing about salt water is they very really have the rot problems Great Lakes boats have.

    That to me is the only plus!!! After I rebuilt the entire engine, thinking everything was a go the first 30 seconds of it running I knew there was something wrong. Severely Pizzed off I had to walk away:envy: pulled the plugs and I had water in every cylinder. WTF over, how can all the cylinders have water, Hmmm, well the intake puts fuel to every cylinder, why not, made plated over the runners on both sides with the gaskets, and a plate over the carb base with a air valve in it. Let it set overnight and the next day I only had like 3 pounds of air in it and it blew a hole in the bottom of the intake. So the intake where the water runs and the thermostat is that runner rusted through and it was putting fuel and water to every cylinder!! So what I thought was good the damn salt ate through that also. Put a different 2 barrel intake on, everything has been working just fine. Knock on wood!! But my stringers and floor are in great shape, they look that petrified wood, hard as hell. That’s my war story on sea water boats that has some good steady salt water time on it. I would consider a low Hr’s on it salt water boat with a outboard for a power source. Nothing with more the 50-60 hrs on it though!!??

I wanted to follow up on this. The TR1 is installed and will really make our trolling more efficient this year. I used a group 24 battery that showed as 60 percent charged. I trolled for two hours with the TR1 and and F15 connected. I rechecked the charge percentage when I got home. The battery showed as 100% charged meaning the F15 was able to take the battery from 60% to 100% charge while the TR1 was operating. I’m all set now!

Sweet, glad to hear it worked out for you. A question is your kicker a big out put, meaning is it a known high amp output kicker. I’m going to be using a 15hp Merc 4 stroker. Last year year I used a 15 hp 2 stroke and I had to run 1/4 throttle or more, so I’m hoping this kicker will charge my battery also. Thanks for any info. PAP.

  5. I know that when I had my 18’ with a 88SPL V4 and my kicker 15hp Force, I tried everything to keep the kicker from drawing the fuel out of the main, that the kicker even sucked the primer ball flat on the main. We ran a T in the line from the tank with primer bulb in line to each motor. Younger and not in the know I just disconnected the main. Now I use a 3 way valve with a I/O I didn’t want to possibly damage the main fuel pump even though I took a plug out of the W/F separator that’s before my steel lines and the mains fuel pump. I personally don’t trust any check valve system, I’ve seen to many fail on the job, there’s even a check ball in your fuel tank that stuck and shut and closed the fuel off to my main. I know when I manually open or close a valve it is just that open or closed.

Those clients were me and my crew from WV.  I was gonna drag my boat up and fish for four days but the weather had something to say about that.  I booked this charter for instruction and fortunately Friday happened to be the best day.

I have nothing but good things to say about Rick and his brother.  Anyone wanting to brush up on their tecniques should give him a call.  He answered all my questions.. Best charter I have ever been on and not just because of all the fish we caught...Planning on fishing with him at Wilson if I can get it to all come together.

Nicely said VooDoo it’s nice to here positive experiences from guys on a Charter trip, especially those that give info on every trip they go on. Glad to hear you guys had a great day with Rick and his crew. This goes to the other charters out there also. I’m going on a half day trip with Gene on the East side with other LOU guys also, this really puts the “can’t wait” mode into overdrive!!!
