  1. Launched out of Sodus on 05/28 @ 0600, forecast was for 1-3 foot waves. When we hit the water forecast seemed spot on. Dropped our gear at 55 fow.  Started heading NW. Empty screen till 120 fow. Waves started to pick up to 2-3. turned East and maintained 120 Fow. Rod w/ a jumbo dipse and a perch stinger 150' back took off. The wife grabbed it and couldn't get it out of the rod holder . We had her on for a few then she was gone. Soon after the rigger goes its  40' down, 50' back w/ a glow purple alewife. Landed that one!! The waves now are 3-4 footers. Then the dipse with the perch goes again. landed that one!! Waves are stepping it up. Two friends that are in the boat are green, luckly they both got to reel in fish. Now the waves are rolling and they think they are going to die! The girl is vomiting :puke:..Back in before 0900 w/ two in the box and two friends kissing the ground. LMAO   THEY WANT TO GO BACK!!!

  2. My apologies for seeming callous, but the sad fact is that what happened to you ,repeats itself over and over again every summer and unless we protect our boats one way or another we will get robbed sooner or later. The only alternative is removing everything that we can remove. For the police this is just another petty theft and they will not make too much of an effort to get your engine back.

rolmops you must know a lot about the running of a criminal investigation like caseload, interviews, collection of evidence, building a case that the DA will bring to a Grand Jury. I can tell you that there is people on this site that are in law enforcement that pay attention to post about stolen property. Property that was not even taken in there jurisdiction. These people not only read the post but take time to look in the launches and slips that they use. So "for the police its is just another petty theft and they will not make much effort to get your engine back." That is not true, its a felony due to the cost of a 9.9 Mercury 4-stroke. TTT with this in the hopes this dirt bag is caught. We will keep looking this way. Good luck Gill-T!!

  3. Launched out of Hamlin today marked a lot of fish 55-60 FOW so dropped the riggers and sent out the a few jumbo dipsy divers. Hooked three Lakers and a king. All was going excellent for first time west of Hughes. Then one of the rods with a dipsy and a Michigan stinger chicken wing starts screaming, No Laker hear!! Started fighting her and pow she is off! reel it in and snubbers broke. didn't have time to lay down the rod and the other dipsy with a blue glow alewife starts to scream, no laker hear!! Pow that one is gone. You guessed it broken snubber. Stupid Stupid Stupid! Moral of the story don't be stupid like me check your snubbers... :envy:
