  1. Iv got an elite 5dsi and havent been real happy with the depth/ fish finder side of it.. Id suggest downloading the updates off the lowrance website you can also download and print off a full operators manual for it.

  2. i seen and heard of a couple issues like this  how old is your fuel line from the tank to the engine? my father had an issue this spring with his 89 mariner the problem was that the fuel line had dry rot and was sucking air   good luck!

  3. Started running a few jet divers. Both 30's and 40's. been running them

On planer borards. And they run fine. Have taken lots of hits on large fish. But can not keep them on the hook. Any sugestions on helping the hook up to in the boat ratios? Thank you

  4. I bought an elite 5 dsi. The gps and chart plotter work great i have yet to figure out how to mark fish with it. I have downloaded the updates for the elite 5 dsi and printed the full operating manual for it. If i were to buy again i would but the elite 7 hdi. Not real happy with it

  5. i recently bought an elite 5 dsi lowrance.    I'm thinking i bought the wrong one   i cannot seem to mark a fish with it. the gps side of it works great. The speed and temp work nice   it reads the bottom great  but i cannot get it to mark fish. its irritating to spend that much money and not have it do what it says it will.  any advice would be much appreciated  or it may end up in the bottom of lake O   :@   :headbang:  thankz

  6. i bought a "new" used depth raider off this site, got it mounted on my boat never having used one before  hooked it up on the rigger wired up the read out and spooled up new coated rigger wire. i striped back the end of  the coated wire and tied it directly to the swivel then wrapped it in the water proof tape. Tried it Sunday with no luck of it working. I did put a new battery in the probe. is their any way of testing the probe to see if its functional. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thankz.

  8. i picked up an 88 25' Larson with a 4.3 v6 in the fall, it needed some serious TLC  the original ritzy comforts had long been removed and cobbled together. the trailer that came with the boat had also seen better days.  the previous owner of the boat had told me of how he "gave er all she had" and that a wicked noise came from the motor. said his friend lifted the engine cover off and something blew out of the engine and landed in the water. shortly their after it seized.  picking the boat up cheap i found that the motor had in fact died of and RPM attack and shot a rod threw the pan. i got lucky and picked up a  great deal on an 89 Larson on a yacht club trailer  with a very very low hr 5.0 v8 in great condition as well as the out drive and other goodies. the boat itself had been left out in the weather for at least 10yrs neglected and not used, after some engine and out drive swapping and tinkering on the 25 footer she runs great n hauls the mail if ya need to. my buddy that helped me with the work  came up with Redline for the name  figuring that its already been pushed to the end and that it hauls now  would be a fitting name. good luck naming your own rig.  - fish hard - its better then work even on the worst day-

  9. just getting into lake Ontario salmon fishing trying to get my boat set up. i have been looking at a lot of depth finders/gps chart plotter combos. im not sure what i should be looking for could anyone shine a little light on this for me? thank you
