Salmonoob

I'm taking the family to Chaumont this week. I usually fish Lake Michigan. I have copper 100-400 feet and dipsy's and riggers. I'm not sure where to start or what to use or speed for that matter. If anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Was there this afternoon marked lots of fish hooked up on one. Didn't land it.(shoddy fishing) heading back in the am. Any input?

What colors are the best performers? Do plugs work? Spoons? Sorry to ask so many questions I am bringing my kids and want to get them on fish.
