Yes, generally the outside line is the farthest back. Line length as it gets closer to the boat shortens. As far as length it all depends on the species of fish, depth fishing water clarity etc. I generally so not go back on my outside line farther that 225' (walleyes). With browns its seems you can get away with shorter outside leads.

There is alot of ice on and around Henderson - to stony island, and to lake view. Its all broken oce "chunks", but is fairly wide spread.
