They were in 120-130 fow over the weekend. Had a blow a Monday so it might have moved them.

Kurt. It turned out to be a good day. Very late but good. Wished I had thought of dropping probe all the way to bottom earlier in day. Temps were all the way on bottom.

They were laying right on the bottom. Had to fish for them like you do for lakers.

There is a special downrigger wire that can be used. I believe it is called torpedo but I dont know how well it works.

Derby will be over before I get up there !!!

3 entries for the entire derby with 2 days to go? Odd.

Look for cooler water

Kurt, happy with the one I have now that I got it the way I wanted it. Not starting over. Unless I decide to go bigger.

10 months??!!! You have been more than patient. You deserve a full refund or product ordered at the least. No excuse offered by the owner is acceptable at this point. Just BS on his part at this point.

You are the highest point or one of the highest points on the water, boat material really doesn't matter under those circumstances get off the water as quickly as possible. [/quote
Exactly right !!!!

That's a good thing you are doing there, Nick & Theresa !!! This world needs more persons like yourselves.

Good thing is with hydraulic steering on boat you have a lot more options available for you. AP systems are pricey without a doubt. Me personally this is not an item I would purchase used given the number of different components involved. Alot of systems available today will not be tomm. Take your time and find system that works for you and your boat. They are a great tool for trolling. I would never be without one on my boat.

Have you tried doing another dockside calibration of the unit?

DON'T use the trailer jack. i.e with the wheel on it! You won't know that's it's not strong enough until it breaks. With the rear end blocked up, the full weight of the boat will be on it. (I found out the hard way!) Those wheel jacks are only rated for a few hundred pounds & your boat looks like it weighs about 4200.

Exactly!! Been there did that!

Les, I hear you about the wire at the terminal connections becoming weak and subject to fraying. That is a given with any rigger you use. Ive had breakoffs when trolling and lose about half my cable along with the ball. Once I change wire I haven't had a problem since. Terminal ends always need periodic maintenance. If one sees a fray and opts to delay repair then shame on them.

Sweet. Thanks for info.

What makes these different from Big Jon otter boats so you don't have to deal with copyright infringement issues? They do look good. Best of luck with your endeavor.

I had same issues with my mag 10 stx I think they put a low quality cable on them. Replaced with Scotty cable and I haven't had a problem since.

Looks good. Where did you get that matting.

You can sand and buff that gel coat if you want.
