  1. I was also out there and when we saw it coming we picked up as fast as we could but it was to late I had to drive into it to braddocks marina. Let’s just say I have never been so scared in my life. We got caught in at least 7-9 ft swells in a 21 ft boat and got hit with a water spout in the mix. Said my peice with god for a moment cause I honestly thought I wasn’t going to see my wife and kids again it was that bad. Thankfully my son wasn’t with us because he probably would never go on a boat again after that. Glad everyone out there made it in safe. Here’s a video

    Doesn’t open
    Glad u made it back

  2. Little update after playing with it the rest of the season… a lot of it had to do with speed ! I was trolling way to slow and not enough rpm to keep me on course .. HUGE shout out to FISHHAWK ( bad probe and different subject)…. But all I can say is their customer service is above and beyond !! after getting probe replaced and trolling almost a full mph faster and catching fish lol holds well and even more so if you deploy the trolling bags and kick up the rpms even more
Works well overall , wouldn’t hesitate recommending

  3. We weathered the storm pretty good - had lots of boat beneath us. No lightning thankfully. When that starts it's time to get out of Dodge.

Been fishing Lake O since 82 and never saw one come up this hard and this fast.  The USCG put out a security call about 1 minute before it hit. We were saying we better pull lines and then we were in it almost immediately.  Had a full spread with  boards, copper, lead and dipseys so it's not a quick deal to get back into cruise mode so we rode it out.

Yes we pulled about 2 min to late … Saw water start getting pulled off the surface up toward the sky and that was enough for me then the wind pushed my boat like it was a toy … glad I witnessed it and it was beautifully scary lol

  4. How rough and how bad is the over correction?..asking as interested putting something like that on a fishmaster 196. I have to believe some is nature of the beast and to some extent variable turning (within reason) is goos for fishing but not if it messes with your trolling spread of course.

To the point if I had a full spread out I’d be worried about board lines and divers touching . But I also have not played with settings yet ... I just push standby and straighten it out manually then engage again .

  5. Highly recommend had a shifting gremlin after my rebuilt bravo 1x was installed by a different repair shop that did not seem interested in sorting it out. Called bill he was honest and upfront , arrived on time and a few adjustments later shifts brand new . Fair , honest, knowledgeable and punctual... rare these days I wouldn’t hesitate to call him again

Here's something exciting and new for this year's Monroe County Offshore Classic! "The Minion 2-Fish Challenge" will be piloted and sponsored by Minion Fly Company. Here's the scoop:

Following the regular rules and regulations for both Friday's Multi-Species Challenge and Saturday's 5-fish box, boats may enter "The Minion 2-Fish Challenge" ($50 cash or $60 paypal to Chris DeVries of the Minion Fly Company).

Each fish will be worth 10 points and 1 point per pound.

Boats entered in "The Minion 2-Fish Challenge" can weigh 2 fish total between fri and sat ...

1 each day or both fri or both on sat. Once a fish is weighed it can not be substituted or exchange for a different fish.

Both fish have to be part of Friday and Saturdays boxes not in addition and PLEASE KNOW WHAT FISH YOU ARE GOING TO WEIGH BEFORE YOU GET TO THE SCALE to keep things moving ... ie. put the head facing a certain direction from the others in your box or on top in your box for example.
