The actual amount of ethanol can be off depending on the local fuel distributor. The gas when it comes to the local depot doesn't have any ethanol in it. your local distributor is responsible to put it in !  Thats probably why those BMW were popping engines.. A bad mix... or a depot employee that got run off the road by a Beamer driver  LOL...........

I learned a few things over the years about this shyten corn juice, but the most I ever was surprised was the gas station out from Dexter put a 93 non ethenal fuel, I gassed up my boat there, I backed her in the water, now she sat all winter but I did run it at home first, but I barely reached the key and she fired right up and she sounded like a different motor, louder, mean lean kick a$$ machine, I'll never run that crap again and with gas prices now it doesn't make sense. Save yourself a lot of headaches. Now I don't know about the newer units designed to operate on the newer fuels.

try some in your truck.. it's like getting a tuneup .... amazing how the engines love it.....

FYI.    On Canandaigua Lake Seager Marine sells only Sunoco 91 octane ethanol free.   No mixing problems. No additive crap...

Very hard to find this year. Usual haunts are empty. All the regular processes aren't producing. Haven't taken a good smallmouth yet. Any ideas would be appreciated here too.

I hope your not going for the Hewescraft based on what you got told on this site. A lot of mis informantion !

First off the Hewescraft are good boats. Heavy, well built out of extra thick aluminum plate. Welding of thick materials like this is fine. The problem comes when welding thin materials like .80 or .60 aluminum sheet. Welding no matter how good you are, distresses the material, duh that's how it sticks to it. Unless you are a GM or Ford and have a 2m welding robot,(none of these guys do) you cannot get the same strength as you get having double the thickness, with a hand driven rivet put through it. It all boils down to what supports the outside, whatever it's made from. Most aluminum guys use folded over pieces of aluminum sheet for their hull support. The quality guys use extrusions , no comparision. Look at an airplane.. what do you see "Rivets".

Also make sure you have upright level floatation in her. Otherwise they sink like a rock !  Sh%t happens ya know.

All aluminum pricing is now going to surge because of the intro of the all aluminum truck bodies. So the commodity pricing of aluminum is going to go up. Now China, Detroit, and the boat boys all bidding for it. Lund buys enough for a whole year of production. Smaller builders like Hewes that don't purchase that way will pay a premium. Get it now.. you think they are high now... you just wait....

FYI : you can get a 20 foot Lund Sport Angler trolling platform with a Honda 150 and trailer for under 40k .. It's a great trolling and performing rig with the best resale in the business.

Saw a 2013 18 Crestliner in last year with a split bottom so they still don't have it right!

Been fishing the normal spots for the last two weeks . Small mouths aren't as plentiful as in years past. Saw one good stringer at the Cape Vincent / Wolfe Island Ferry dock. Everything else has been one'ze two'eze. Locals I 've talked to says it's towards Clayton or out in the lake. Gotta do more exploring. If there is anything I don't know about fill me in. If I were coming up here I wouldn't waste much time between the lighthouse and Clayton.

Hey Bucky fill me in on those drags. What are tuna toms drags ? never heard of them. Last year I dumped 6 new 47LC's because the drags where all crap. They were not the same reels I got in 2011!

Is there a fix for them as that was my only complaint was the drags? Tough to find a good reel for up here that isn't a fortune. I just sent back some AbuGarcia Ambassodor reels that cost $119 for the same thing , crap drags.

I think it was that setting sun rising supermoon that did it !!!  

Did they just replace the impeller or did they install a waterpump kit in it? the housing gets distorted and a new impeller isn't always the right answer. there should have been signs of possible blockages, some guys just cram an impeller in it and send it !
