Got out with a buddy yesterday. Caught a bunch of eyes but most of them were shorts. Got a few keepers.

I don't think it really needs to be that much later but 2 weeks would guaranteed they would be done. I also think that they should limit the ice fishing as well. Something like 2 per day or add a slot size.

I agree Justin, I it should be closed from April 1st-may 31st

Went out for a few hours last night and got a decent eater 21” Walleye. When I filleted it up it was a unspawned male. Guess this long cold spring has delayed some of the spawn.

You definitely can before the water warms up and the weed beds grown in. We’ve had great nights trolling shallow as well. Once the weeds grow in and the water warms up it gets tough

There are plenty of places right here in ny to catch your limit of walleyes and fill your freezer. I'd much rather drive a hour or so here fish for the day and go back home for the cost of filling my gas tank.
