I haven't fished off shore for years but when i did. I either took and dropped minows out deep with a bobber. And then brought the polesback with the boat. Or when i was stuck to the shore i would shoot my worms with air. A sinker about two ft.down so it sits on the bottom aa put a tiny bobber about 4 or 5 foot up it will hold that worm up off the bottem works with minows to.
