If you would like real rigged cut bait is the best. Out of bald eagle creek about 7 miles from you

Appreciate the report. With the temps all goofy everyone is looking for stability.
thanks again -
Great discussion for sure.
copying Gill-Ts video link here as in my opinion it visually demonstrates what we are all trying to avoid (washingVs fishing)
awesome video Gill-T!!!-

I suspect colour is grossly overrated. I opened a salmons stomach, all I saw was small fish, dark on top silver on the bottom withe large black eyes. I suspect that's why 95% of Spoons have silver back side, and that's why the Salmon strike, flashing silver looks like lunch.
I may be wrong but I suspect marketing puts out all the colors to catch fishermen, not fish.
so agree with this Though I am guilty of buying every color out there i think speed / action while fishing at the right depth (where the fish are) is the key

I find it changes daily We run a little of both and depending on what is going we switch over
-
ive been good between 18-30" but generally settle around 24" I am sure there are many opinions
-
agree with above
We always have meat fishing on our boat It may not take any shots all day but we always keep one in 42 degree ice water Usually ends up taking the largest fish of the day
Tuning isn't as bad as you may think Most of the name brand heads come pre tuned I usually take a look at the roll and it is usually good to go. Play with leader length and with twinkies or without
Another idea is to think about speed I try to stay 2.2 - 2.6 downspeed assuming you have that on boat. I find too fast gets less meat hits Just my opinion

Out of Bald Eagle Marina this weekend but fished east toward Sandy Had some boat issues but was out for a couple hours after the blow sat and a couple hours early am sun Bite was hot Everything took shots
7 color / 10 colors were hot with Hulk and Burnt bread mags
Spoons on riggers were going as well 65-80ft
Mag Dispys out 125-160 and 1 setting all were busy
Worked primarily 85-110 fow and bite was 40-75ft down
Lost one pig and all other fish were mid teen kings with a mix of lakers and a cpl browns
Hope the fishing stays hot for all

So I was searching for threads because I am looking to replace our deep rigger Have Cannons for the others but wanted to run 20# ball on this one as we usually run the probe off it We are worried with breaking them off being so fast I was hoping Cannon had a new slower option but in reading this it appears same issue. Does anyone run 20# weights off of the canon mag 10s? Anyone doing it successfully? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the boost of confidence. I never had a problem catching salmon once they hit the creeks. Out on the lake I'm learning is a whole new ball game.

Stick with it. They will come. Of interest is the Niagara salmon school in Jan/feb. it is well worth the money if you are a beginning lake guy

Can’t recall what exact temps were but at those depths we got meat rigs at 100 to go and spoons between 75-85 to go

Just returned yesterday from two days there. We found matures in 100ish but it was a very slow bite.
Lots of action 325-375 but smaller fish
Meat and mags did well for us from 75’ to 100’ down
Good luck
