Hey guys, Last year I bought two used Marlin Hp's (standard). They seemed to be in pretty good condition but need some tuning up. First, I need to re-spool one of the riggers. I don't think I can remove the plastic spool from the downrigger. Do I just remove the old cable and rewire the new cable similar to that of a fishing reel? As you can tell I am new to this. Second, one of the riggers has short stop but was touchy on the water last year. The other rigger was altered. The previous owner removed short stop and installed a reverse motor switch. I am looking to do the same with the rigger that currently has short stop because I think the wiring is shot. Any suggestions when it comes to this? Again, I am new to this and would love some help! Hey guys, I will be fishing out of Henderson harbor between July 31st and August 10th. I will be running 2 downriggers and hoping to stack 2 rods on each rigger. I was looking for some basic lure combos and colors as I will be fishing the trench, galloo and calf island, and the shipping lanes for kings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Dan

I will be fishing in the "trench" off the high rocks, off stony point near the lighthouse, and the shipping lanes. I am looking for advice as far as lure selection and downrigger and rod set up. Again very basic advice, I am sure I will need to learn as I go. Mostly interested in basic downrigger and rod set ups... should I stack or not? Hoping to convince dad to install 2 rod holders allowing 4 rods total (1 off each downrigger 50lb braid and 1 off each rod holder using wire with dispsy divers (mags)). let me know what you guys think. thanks

Hey guys, I am just starting to fish for Salmon, Trout and Lakers out of Henderson Harbor. I have a 21 foot, center console with 200 yamaha. Still young and my dad is restricting the amount of hardware placed on the boat. I am starting this summer with 2 electric cannon's off the rear of the boat. I have done a good amount of research but still pretty clueless. I have a few flasher/fly combos as well as some Michigan stinger spoons. Any advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
