Do you have any Torpedo weights now ?
-
Thanks Steve !
-
I am looking for Downrigger Torpedo style weight 14 lbs or 16 lbs if anyone has any for sale? Preferrably in Hudson Valley or I'm on Lake Ontario - Mexico Bay on weekends.
I have the 14# Torpedos on 2 of my 4 riggers, and they seem to be the only Downrigger weights that wont catch some current & tangle others?

I just received my order from EBay for 600 yards of 150 lb stainless steel wire for my Cannon mag10s. The wire seems half the diameter of the original ? Any experience that says it’s all good, and may be less resistance / sway back ?

I will never put a spoon in the water without:
1) Adding a glow white UV belly tape.
2) giving spoon a slight 1/16 twist.
3) Adding Herring sent with UV a must. Such great new UV scents out !

I was at Grenadier island a week ago and in this shadow that was cast over the water there was a pile of smallmouths in about 15 fow.
It was dead calm crystal clear and i could see them clearly and i was seein 5 and 6 lb. Smallmouths. Same thing, threw everything at them from crankbaits to wacky worms and no takers.
That’s really what I thought they were

We fished Blind Sodus for bass last weekend where the lake met the bay and I saw the same thing .
They are Carp . My buddy caught a 20# on a Senco worm.
They were everywhere .
Thanks. Carp make sense but patterns in the 1 pic look like bass. They wouldn’t acknowledge anything we threw at them !

We were trolling on way to Henderson right off Robert Wehl State park, and stopped to cast on these schools of 15-20 fish that appeared 20-24”+. Any ideas? They seemed to big to be bass? Zoom in on pictures-one pic shows pretty good forked tail like a Laker? These schools would come up out of 18’, and hunt through 8’ then back down

We catch a few of those bowfin in north and south sandy pond every year,,,,after a while your bummed its not a walleye on the end of your hook, but fun to reel in none the less....
This one stayed just out of clear sight for 10min fight so my son really thought it was a huge Walleye! We didn’t have a net so he scooped it out water (see lure stuck in his shirt!) & we almost could not tell right away because was dark out!

I haven’t caught one of these things yet. They remind me of the Ling we used to catch up in Canada. Very eel like
Not really Eel like. Scales are similar to carp. Jaw line like Lake trout.

Do you eat them?

No! Not sure if anybody does. The smell of the slimy skin is enough to say don’t try!

Just got back home. Yup long day. Didn’t boat a thing. 0-4
gonna fish some local lakes for the next couple weekends and wait for a few days of a good west wind before heading back up. Fishing has definitely been better out of Mexico
Lake must have flipped Saturday. Friday was 62* and Sunday everywhere to radio tower showed 46*. Bait disappeared
