  4. It's always a crap shoot really just like Erie. I was just looking to gauge what everyone's thoughts were on sat mostly. That's for the help Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. I'll have all day Friday tho. If we have to pack it in sat so be it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Yeah Shawn my friend has an 18 foot Starcraft and 4's on Erie were somewhat obnoxious in my opinion as far as comfortability. I have a 20 foot starweld. It did really well the first outing. But this will only be its second journey ever Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. We will have all day Friday too. Fingers crossed anyhow. What time do the bait shops open up that way. We're going out of wilson first thing Friday morning and I need to pickup a couple things Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. I guess as long as the waves are rollers id be fine. Never had my boat on lake o just Erie and 4 footers there are normally rather violent in a aluminum boat Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  12. 10-4 thanks. I will make sure if we make it over that far west to keep an eye out. I have the two week free trial of the navonics app on my phone two I'll be able to double check with for this trip anyhow Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. We won't get fishing till Friday afternoon. If I'm comfortable with launch and direction after Friday I'll prob head out first thing sat morning at daybreak same with Sunday if the waves cooperate. They are calling for 2-4's sum now so that may be too much for me just yet with the new boat Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. I live in Pittsburgh pa so tackle is limited unless I order online. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Thank you. Will the slippery sinker have the mooneyes and flys ? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Honestly I'll take all the info I can hillbilly. I'm taking my father and are really just looking to catch anything. I've got big boards dipsys and riggers flashers with squids stinger spoons and enough shallow and deep diving stick baits to choke a whale. But all I know is by what I've read so far on here and online. My game plan was to run 4 rods off the boards with a weight system down to 35-45 feet with spoons and then run the flashers with the squids of the riggers one just off the bottom and the other about 20 ft off the bottom. Do you think that will produce ? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. What model lowrance tlox. I have the hds7 touch gen 2. It showed the boarder on Erie. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Lol..... Well hillbilly this is gonna be my first trip ever with my brand new boat so I'm gonna be being extra cautious. I'm just hoping to catch a fish period no matter the species. But after I get some time under my belt I'll be sure to look into going north of the boarder off the bar. We're launching out of wilson so I'm thinking 3-6 miles is about as far as I'm going to travel for my first expedition. Hopefully I'll be able to locate some fish in that zone. 19. Yeah I was surprised too. We have three vehicles and the boat bundled together so I can only assume that's why I got the rate that I did. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Thanks hillbilly. We weren't planning on crossing the boarder. That line should be definitive on my lowrance Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Well..... There's only one way to learn then. I'll find out Friday afternoon when we get there I suppose. Thanks for your help. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. How far easy does the bar run. My plan was to hit 100fow out of wilson and then troll north west along the drop off. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. I did download the 2 week free trial of navonics for my phone to get me through this trip tho. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Navonics for my lowrance is def on my list to get I just haven't had an chance to pick one up yet. I don't imagine they'll sell them at the tackle shops do they? The preloaded Erie map worked well but I'm def still going to get hot maps soon. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. I have a hds 7 touch sonar. But I've never been on the lake with it so I haven't had a chance to look at it. Thank you for the map link too. My boat isn't close to me to start up my lowrance and play on the maps. So I was just asking as a quick reference till we come up Friday. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
