  1. I run all my dipsys on 30# braid. With 6 ft floro leader to spiny. My depth with the dipsy was 75-80 ft.

Yesturday did 5 kings biggest 28lbs , lost 4! 2 steel head 1 short and 1 keeper and 0 Browns . Best bite was at 7 pm again. We had a triple on landed 2 and lost 1 . Only 2 of us on the boat . Lol Packing up to leave today . Oh and only 1 King we boated yesturday was really dark. The rest were not. Hope this helps. Tight lines and be back next yr.

  2. Went out of Sodus at 8 am , headed east and when we hit 60 feet of water we set up with dodgers and cut bait [hemlock spinners ] we never marked a fish ! However we did hook 2 browns in 2 hours in 70fow ? I think that south wind has upwelled a lot of cold water and many fish are in the top 20 feet. Surface temp 75 do not have a fish hawk but I bet that the water 20 feet down was in the 50's

    Did you run flat lines?

  3. Headed out the chute at 5:30am . 2 kings and 8 brown kings wouldn't touch the meat today so switched over to white/green dot flasher with green fly. And both kings came on that. 70 down over 115. All the Browns came on same spoon as yesturday in 50 Down over 70.

Back out in the AM for the kings .

  5. Went out to 130ft in the am .0 for 3! For some reason this morning all three kings only on for a min then came unbuttoned . Same set up as past 2 days. Slipped into 60 ft and put 8 Browns in the boat. All on spoons down 40 ft on riggers . Back out for dusk and same issue ! 2 hits and after first run GONE.

Heading back out in the am.

I went out yesterday evening and got 2 on a dipsy 350 feet out on the 3 setting and had white and green dot flasher fly combos on it, what spoons were working for your browns

  6. With J's or similar plugs that have the bead chain swivel that runs through them, be sure to NOT use a swivel....I know the hard way, that the plug becomes a giant lever to toss the hook. Tie directly to the plug.

A deadly technique, if you have the room, is to run it way far back behind the boat off a planer board as a flat line.

My favorites are the "Stairway To Heaven" plug and the Watermelon J Plug.

Sam Zucco of Dream Catcher Charters is one of the finest plug fisherman out there. He seems to pop rods with them more than anyone else I know. He fishes out of the Genesee River and is a terrific guy!

    Good Luck

Do you know how you would run them off riggers
