Sitting in a groundblind now, hoping to watch turkeys. Just ordered two new rods online lol. Pretty sure when I send the broken one back they will replace it as well.

The problem is these people own trophy homes how can the government stop you from going to your second home or trophy home even though normally they only go one or two weeks in the summer or Year for that manner money talks they pay the taxes year round

I need to buy 6 Rods and reels for fishing Lake George and Lake Champlain for Salmon/Lake Trout. 1 on each down rigger and 4 other rods in Rod holders. I was thinking ugly sticks, but there are so many reels that it is overwhelming.
Ugly sticks work great keep your eyes on classifieds for Diana sg 27s and Okuma reels for sale sent you a Pm

Fat Nancy’s carries them thing I like about them is you can get multiple fish off one strip of cut bait inside of it I always use real meat instead of soaking the sponge in tuna oil which I’ve heard others have tried

Not sure of your budget but I remember a trip my father took me on (40 yrs ago) but gave a lasting impression we rented a houseboat out of Thousand Islands for an extended weekend around Memorial Day quick google search will show you pricing we caught pike perch crappies
Just a thought -
Will the red ones fit on stainless steel cable or do you have to use the yellow ones

Yes the reds fit stainless cable
As well as coated cable

what keeps the Chamberlain release from riding up the rigger line?
I use Scotty auto stop bead on riggercable to keep release pinned either 2 yellows or use the braid red one the red works better than yellows to fully load up rod without slippage

How do you keep the Chamberlain in place? That's a neat way to do it

Wow pretty cool love the ingenuity makes me wonder if you could braze a post onto copper and use that without spring and attach cable to post

Hey guys. I have the depth raider unit with the spring coil that goes on the black cable for speed and depth transmission . Wondering if there is a good way to set this up with Scotty riggers that have auto stop beads. Seems the beads would catch the spring and cause damage. Any ideas on how to rig this better? Maybe just use a rubber stop that ends at the top of the rigger end instead of the beads? Tha k's in advance.

They make a thimble to replace the Scotty thimble a lot more durable than spring contact Fish307 they should be able to help you out

So winter has me trapped in the house watching You Tube ( or sometimes sitting on the edge of the tub staring down the toilet I call it my ice fishing simulator ) I see a lot of videos where the kicker motor is frantically oscillating back and forth. What's going on? My boat has 2 outboards and the kicker is tied to the main motor with a connecting rod and doesn't move unless the wheel is turned. My steering while trolling is usually done with my bow mounted ipilot.
I understand your pain

Tie 10 to 20 feet of 50 pound mono between your copper and your braid and use that in the big Scotty releases all your issues will disappear

Do a search here Scotty downriggers and one on cannon look at number of posts on repair option/problems and used sales Talk to reputable repair shops and see what repair parts are sold I love my Scotty’s that have seen close to 3000 hrs fishing with no problems other than cable maintenance and that is 4 separate riggers
