    I am attempting to hook up a Garmin TR1 AP. From Garmin site "The two types are RS-232 and RS-422. If you are unsure as to which standard your GPS device utilizes, please consult with the manufacturer." Which type is used. Tyvm

     Is this your only chart plotter? are you using the Elite as your GPS source? Your garmin should be the GPS source. When we connect to VHF radios we use RS-422.

    Can anyone clarify?

    Garmin TR-1 Gold

    Anyone that's familiar with garmin TR1 Gold? Can the compass ball be installed in cubby or does it need to have a line of sight. The instruction just say to keep it away from instruments/compass/anchor. Also can this unit operate without tach or throttle actuator hooked up? Obviously it would lack speed control feature. TIA

    Its arrived. Super stoked to set it up. Couple questions for ya. Can compass ball be mounted in cubby or dies it need a line of sight? Unit should work w out throttle actuator hooked up? I was a little concerned with buying an item unseen but it looks to be in great shape and vacuum sealed was the way to go. Thanks for a positive buying experience. Tight lines and cheers!

    I've had this setup for a couple years and havent checked to see if that update was installed. If that doesnt help I'll look more into placement. It's a slotted bracket so it looks like if I adjust angle either way it's not gunna be right. The depth of it on transom isnt somethin I'm overly keen on moving as it looks like it would involve more holes.

    Any recommendations on a a transducer for a lowrance elite 7 hdi. Mostly for salmon fishin 60 to 100 fow. I currently have the one that came w it but I'm having issues of it losing my depth. Turning it off and on a fes times generally fixes it. Has always had a problem w it tracking depth once I hit 15 or 20 mph.

    I'd consider this if I could wrap my head around how I'd hook it up to my 9.9 tohatsu kicker. My kicker has a bar to my main motor. Not sure if that would be a hangup. Is it a stand alone autopilot or do I need a head unit that's compatible. I'm gunna spend some time googling this unit tonight. Ty
