  1. We opened up camp at Sunset on Seneca yesterday and as we drove by Lodi Point one boat was out.

I just came back up now and one small boat was heading in to the park as I left.

A big thank you to the N.Y. state park system for cleaning out the launch of debris  . Looked like a small dump truck load they had taken out of the launch area. The back side of the launch has filled in more so large boats (24' or larger) launching on the left side (as you look at it) may have some trouble.

My boat is still home with about 6 jobs I need to get done before I bring it up here , hope to be done by next weekend. ;(

  2. Good post Ray thanks................

I was poking around looking into all of this a found this info as just a heads up for everyone :

    >Why cant I have the Fish N Chip on the same chip that I purchased? A: Some of our GPS plotter partners have automatic selection of the charts that make up a chip covering a certain territory. Since the Fish N Chip is for fishing only, there is a risk that in some areas the plotters automatic chart selection may choose the fishing data instead of the navigation data. Until such time that all plotters can distinguish between navigation and fishing charts, Navionics decided to absorb the greater cost of shipping an extra chip to our customers for their safety.

I found this and more info on this web page :

I have the " HotMaps Gold East

    Dec-2004

It's NOT very impressive for the finger lakes not bad for Lake Ontario.

What everyone take on the NEW one's , they would give me $25.00 back if I sent this old one in if I bought a new one is it or was it worth it to you ???

  3. uglyokuma just disconect it where it hooks to the motor...... see if the motor moves with just finger tip effort.

Try the steering to see if it is still hard to move while it is unhooked.

If the motor moves free unhooked and the streering is still hard unhooked it's time to replace it.

Each time the grease is added over the years some works into the cable if you try my hose idea above with just WD-40 it should help some but it only a temp fix.

  4. To get a extra season or just a little more time you can take the cable off at the motor and pull it out. The get a hose that will fit over it and clamp it off , load the hose with degreaser or penatrating oil and put air pressure in hose. Move streering wheel as much as you can then repeat till it get a little easer.

You are still going to have to replace it more than likely. When I did mine I had to replace the throttle and shift cable a year or so later so you may want to just do it all now.

    Good Luck

  5. JR , they are a older Ukrainian couple. Probably never had either LM or SM bass. They said they were good just had different tastes to each one. Thanks for the input guys

  6. Part KK - Establish a trout and salmon stamp

    Purpose:

This bill would amend the Environmental Conservation Law to establish a

trout and salmon stamp and require all persons fishing for trout and

salmon (e.g., trout, lake trout, landlocked salmon, and Pacific salmon)

    to possess such stamp.

Statement in Support, Summary of Provisions, Existing Law, and Prior

    Legislative History:

A trout and salmon stamp would generate additional revenues to support

the Conservation Fund, which funds the Department of Environmental

Conservation's management of New York's trout and salmon resources, as

well as the operation of the Department's hatchery system. Approximately

one-third of all freshwater fishing activity in New York is for trout

and salmon. Fish reared in Department hatcheries and stocked into New

York waters sustain a significant amount of resident and non- resident

    fishing activity in New York.

    Budget Implications:

Enactment of this bill is necessary to implement the 2009-10 Executive

Budget. Fully effective revenues of $4 million would be deposited into

the Conservation Fund, which would otherwise have a negative balance of

    $9.8 million.

    Effective Date:

This bill takes effect of October 1, 2009.

Part LL - Establish a recreational marine fishing license

    Purpose:

This bill would amend the Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) to estab-

lish a recreational marine fishing license, and require all persons

fishing in the marine and coastal district, or for migratory fish of the

sea in any waters of the state, to possess such a license. The marine

fishing license would also serve as a registry of New York marine

anglers and would fulfill requirements of the National Saltwater Angler

Registry and State Exemption Program. The license fee would be $19 for

residents and $40 for non-residents. Statement in Support, Summary of

Provisions, Existing Law, and Prior Legislative History:

On January 12, 2007, the Federal Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation

and Management Reauthorization Act of 2006 was enacted, requiring the

Secretary of Commerce (SOC) to make improvements to recreational fisher-

ies surveys, including implementing a national saltwater angler and

for-hire vessel registry by January 1, 2009. The SOC may exempt from the

Federal registration requirements anglers and vessels that are regis-

tered or licensed by a state if the state provides sufficient identifi-

cation and contact information for use in national recreational surveys.

If New York does not establish a recreational marine license, New York-

ers who wish to fish will need to register with the National Marine

Fisheries Service (NMFS) beginning January 1, 2009, and likely pay a fee

for registration beginning January 1, 2011. The proposed marine fishing

license will satisfy the requirements of the registry program; there-

fore, New Yorkers will not be inconvenienced by having to register with

NMFS. Instead, they could purchase a license through the Department of

Environmental Conservation (DEC) Automated Licensing System (DECALS) and

DEC would provide the required information to NMFS. In addition, the New

York marine fishing license fees would be deposited into the Conserva-

tion Fund to support resource management in New York, rather than be

payable to the NMFS, and would result in additional Federal aid for New

    York programs.

    Budget Implications:

Enactment of this bill is necessary to implement the 2009-10 Executive

Budget; moreover, this bill would satisfy a Federal requirement to

establish a Marine Fishery registry. Fully effective revenues of $6

million would be deposited into the Conservation Fund, which would

otherwise have a negative balance of $9.8 million.

    Effective Date:

This bill takes effect October 1, 2009.

  7. Here is contact info , the poking around I've done has shown that IF the stamp is NOT ear marked to go back to the DEC it will go into the General fund and be spent where ever !!!!! If someone can find a better way to be heard post it :
