Automotive Bleach White gets my vote. I've used it on my own boat for years as well as clean up on customer boat's. Inexpensive and does a great job.

 Yep OK Looks like ya had a great afternoon.
-
Erin: After 4 years or 3 for that matter I would service them. Clean, ck, repack and adjust especially with the amount of miles you put on it towing from where you are. A bit of preventative maintenance can save a lot of heartache.
-
Mark: Glad I could help and don't forget at a minimum every 2 years pull the drive. Service the upper and ck. the engine alignment.

Thanks guys. It's a 1990. I completely lucked into it. And I can't believe how well taken care of its been.

huh ,water pump on moter or impeller in out drive sounds like your talking about doing both you can smoke the impeller in the out drive in seconds running it dry im talking dont even crank and start for a sec or two unless the thing is wet kinda a old timers marina scam to change a few,as far as motor water pump biggest diff that i could see was the heater hose outlet is solid casting on boat (no heater or hose) and drilled on auto if you didnt do the above id be right there when they pull the old one if the impeller is melted looking in the pump walls id pull out my digital take some photos and ask to see the owner , ,,,pm me if ya got some questions
RJ: There is a difference and I'm not sure if your talking circulator pump, or raw water pump, but I'm assuming you mean raw water pump ( in Outdrive). Unless your in salt water the engine circulating pump seldom goes bad unless a seal starts leaking or a bearing goes & they are both usually related. The difference between automotive and marine is not the casting but different seals, bearings and a stainless steel impeller plate to help combat salt water corrosion. But as Ray said you can not run the engine out of water unless you have an adequate water supply to it. There are more reasons why the raw water impeller would fail after that short of time if you want, pm me & I'll run a few things by ya.

Redneck: Sorry if you took it wrong. It wasn't ment that way at all. Was just busting on ya is all. Things change day to day up here, and it's not been a real pretty April so far weather wise. Is sping ever going to get here?

You forgot that the lady at the south shore RV place is full of it..... The only snow on the ground was that, that has been in the shade and left over snow banks! Must be the Easter bunny brought her something REALLY good......
I can tell your not from up around here. But there was 10 to 12 inches on the ground Sunday morning with wind to go with it. Hopefully this will be the end of it.

Pat: You said it all in a nutshell. One or two bulbs under the deck will do it this time of year unless it gets extremely cold.

Had the same thing in mind. Maybe a combo Port Bay - Sodus deel.
-
Larry: Give Steve (King Me) a call or mail. I'm sure he can help you out.
-
Let me know what's up. Thinkin I can get Steve (King Me- Steve) out and have a good time. No trips that weekend so I'm free.

It would be best to save our money. They weren't a good unit to start with and there is little or no support to repair them.

Do you still have it? And is it a single line tank or presure tank type?
-
Clarke: You should have no problem's using a deep cycle that way. It has been common practice for years. Not sure what size boat you"re running or how many electronics's, but if you have room I'd invest in a 2nd battery with a switch as well. OK guy's I'm ready for the heat & comment"s.

shark. I would think 8hp would be more than enough. But if you plan on going with a bigger boat in the future think about the 9.9.
"Also what can anyone tell me about the Tohatsu motors? I know they are nissans with different stickers."
Not to be byas in any way but they are an excellent engine. In the early 80's when they first intuduced them in the states we sold a lot of them on the coast. I was one of the 1st dealers at that time. You have it a bit backwards. Tohatsu is the manufacturer. Nisson buys from them, as well as the smaller Mercs, and other major engine companies just different colors and decals.
If you can get a good deal. I wouldn't be afraid of them. A good share of the smaller engines as well as the kickers you guys run are made by Tohatsu with others paint and stickers on them.

Tim: If you plan on going out of here you had better keep your fingers crossed. A lot of ice has to disappear first.

Mick Thanks: That was my point exactly.

That's the stuff. Hard to beat and the price is right. A gallon is only about 10 bucks or less, it goes a long way's and does a good job. Matter of fact that's what your new boat was cleaned with when Ben bought it new.![;)](https://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/uploads/emoticons/default_emoticon-0105-wink.gif)
