Bad Habit

 Well Amazon delivered 2  Okuma high speed Coldwater CW-453DS reels yesterday. They were the linecounters too. Nice surprise because they didn't show a linecounter in the picture or say anything in the description. Good deal for $84. If I had known that I would have ordered 2 more for the diver rods!!

 I'm looking for recommendations for what to use as backing for 10 color leadcore. Not sure what brand the leadcore is but I'm spooling it onto a Coldwater CW-453DS.

 Decided to buy a couple of Okuma CW-453DS. Found them on Amazon for $84. Going to use them on 10 color leadcore so I didn't think I needed line counters. Looking forward to trying them soon.

 I'm looking to replace my old Daiwa Sealine 47SH's. Any opinions on a good reel with similar capacity? I would like to stick with at least a 5:1 ratio. I like the Saltist but probably more $ than I want to spend for a weekend fisherman.

 Has anyone been using the Torpedo Downrigger cable with the stainless exterior and copper core for the Depth Raider? Sounds like a great idea to not have to worry about the coating being damaged. Interested in how it works overall.

About 7 years ago I had John Mann, Sodus Bay canvas, make a new top, windows and drop curtain for my boat. Now I would like to get the windows replaced but haven't been able to get a hold of John. I called and left a message but never heard back. Does anyone know if he is still in business? He did a great job and would like him to do the replacement windows if possible.

I can troll down to about 1.8 mph on the main. Just curious what an auto pilot would cost and how it works with power steering and what the price tag might be. Just a toy I’ve always thought would be handy.

 I know very little about Autopilots and was wondering what might be the best unit for a 25ft boat  with a 350, 260 hp Mercruiser with power steering. Not sure this is the direction I want to go but wanted to look at my options. How difficult is installation?

We fished Sat morning in front of the Genny. Went 3 for 6 fishing from 30 to 45 feet. Biggest was about #20

Fat Trout, Do you have any problems with the boat rocking at the dock setting of the motion sensor light? It sounds like a great idea.

Almost no fleas out of I-Bay Saturday.

 Looks like a great setup. Looked on line for the Scotty contact sleeve and no one has it in stock. Have to call locally (Rochester) area to see if I can get it.

 Fleas were so bad this weekend they loaded up in my antenna wire and broke it off while I was raising the ball. Just wondering if anyone had a one they weren't using and wanted to part with. 

Decent day for us this morning. Boated 16 fish and lost a handful more. Fished between 70 and 85 feet between Shipbuilders and Hedges. Mostly Browns with a couple of small kings. Everything we ran took hits. Leadcore, divers and downriggers. Fleas weren't to bad early but late morning they were terrible. 

 I've got a 1987 350 260 hp Mercruiser I.O. and have been using ethanol free, 91 octane gas from Fast Trac for the last few years. Now they have gone to 87 octane ethenol free instead. I'm thinking I need a higher octane for that motor but thought I would ask here. Thanks for any input. 

 Nice morning. Even HOT beats working. How were the fleas and cottonwood this morning?

 We fished from 100' to about 150'. Went 14 for 17 in about 4 1/2 hours. Kings and steelhead with everything coming 60' and above. All on spoons.

Went out Sunday morning. Didn't see much in the way of fleas but did get a lot of cottonwood on the lines. It's even harder to get off then the fleas! Hopefully that will clear up soon.
