  1. Last summer one of my Lenco trim tabs stoppped working. When I pulled the boat for the year I trouble shot it and found some water got in to the actuator or motor (electric type). I was just going to call Lenco to see if I could get the guts for it or if I have to get hole thing. Anyone ever have to replace thiers, and were did you get your parts? Thanks for any info a head off time.

  2. I had the same problem a few years ago when I built my deck. I end up going to 84 lumber pay a little more but the lumber was / is worth it. They will deliver it free even out here to Hamlin. Any pieces you think are bad as you use it they will take it back for a good piece. Hope this helps.

  3. Anyone ever get caught out on the the lake over night or have any good stories?

One of my close calls came years ago when I got caught 4- 5 miles out ( in a 17ft center console) in front of the Genesee river and Bradocks bay in thick fog and my gps died, and no compass on board. Used the depth finder to find my way south. It was dead calm so couldnt use the wave direction to get back. Needless to say I always have at least 2 or 3 compasses on board.

  4. Just get one of those cigarett boats and modify it for fishing. They ll do 80mps or more. I always wanted to see one of those with riggers hagging off it. I figure 3 or 4 driftsocks should get you down to good trolling speed. Or just put a kick on it so you dont have to run the twin 400hp engines. You could fish any were on the lake in a day with out trailoring it, you could just race to were the good fishing is at 80mph. Probly need some heavy duty brackets on the transducers so they dont rip off the back at 85mph. Just think the the thing will be a chick magnet after your done fishing for the day, and no one will crowd you fishing because they would get and ear ache from the noise from the exhaust. :P;)

  5. I got a 2004 Trophy pro 2052 had it for 2 years now and love it. I did alot of research on the net before I decide to buy one. Make sure you get trim tabs, at least v6 or 150 hp out board depending on the model. Every thing I read was positive be it the great lakes or ocean use. Pretty good on gas and goes through the waves quite comfortably and dry, self bailing.

The only issue I have had with it is I could not get a Depth Raider to work properly on mine. The D.R. tech told me it was because of the high voltage coil in the merc 4.3 inboard????

I would go for it. Any question let me know.

  6. Does the lake seem to be warming up quicker, and staying warmer longer. The past 2 or 3 summers the lake seemed to warm up and stay warm longer. I think this might be why the fishing has been getting tougher. I know this caused the direct dumping of fish into sandy creek because it warmed up to quick this spring. Instead of being put in pens. Just thought I would throw this thought out there and see what you guys thought.

  7. Got out this morning 6am till 10am did 2 for 3 all very small kings. Lots of bait and I do mean lots out in front of Sandy creek to the pump house in 70 to 100 fow down from 55 to the bottom in some spots. You d think I have foul hooked bait it was so thick.

We will be out tomorrow and hope the big boys are hunger for metal :) If not it will be another beautiful morning on the lake either way.
