  1. As sportsmen it is our responsibility to make our voice heard.  There is no better way than not giving dicks or field and stream our business and rewarding companies like Mossberg and Springfield armory.   I would love to see a boycott organized outside a dicks by people like us on a Saturday at a store in NY that would make a central location for the majority of us.

I had a great day today. This morning I shot a turkey and a coyote came in and grabbed it and try to steal it. This afternoon I fished a local lake and caught a nice limit of crappies. Great start for May.

I taught school for 33 years and at times coached 3 varsity sports. My kids also each played 3 sports so I understand family issues. Looking back I wonder how I fit in as much hunting and fishing as I did. Now it's hunt or fish 4-5 days a week interrupted by frequent visits to NJ to visit my kids and grandkids. I'm truly blessed!!!!

  3. We did well the last two days On browns and LL and today and I couldn't believe the size of the accidental pike we were getting.  We were in the StarCraft fishmaster with the yellow boards off the mast.  We were also the boat that was fighting a fish today and not paying attention and wrapped a board 10 ft the other side of the weather buoy hahahaha.  I'd post a pic of a pike but someone would have a fit saying I shouldn't have taken time to take a quick pic before releasing.  By the way, the weather buoy does not give at all. Also thanks to those who took the time to pm and call me

  4. Sounds like maybe your electronics ran your main battery too low.  The kicker was either still running or took a lot less juice to start.  Does the kicker have a charging system tied into your main battery for the big motor?  Food for thought that you might want to start the main motor every once in awhile while trolling on the kicker and let it recharge.

Glad you had a better day.  After reading your post again, I would add to scale down on leader size.  Twenty-five lb fluoro is too heavy for browns.  Your sticks and spoons will work much better with 10-12 lb leader.  Just add a barrel swivel to your current leader and add a rod-length of lighter line to a snap.

I think he was saying he had 25 foot of leader not 25#
