  1. Breeding ourselves into stupidity. Cut the stones off of them all. Sick and tired of carrying the burden of losers! :@ Nobel idea of creating role models for these youngsters but I wouldnt trust them around my house or family. You cant paint over rust and unfortunately most will become a product of their environment. Heres goes a can of worms........ Obama is making it easier and easier for them. We reward for failure in this country. :@

  2. Andy, the thought of catching some fish is appealing. lol. I was considering bringing it down through the locks to Cayuga and then pulling it and leaving it at the camp. It would be fun to fish that. hmmmm. I am real busy now getting ready for fall. Firewood, pool closing, boat hauling and winterization, kid soccer practices and games, swim practices/meets, hanging cameras and stands, decoy rigging and repair and back to my regular job teaching too. We have to connect for a duck hunt this fall or winter. Putting the battleship up for sale too. Not the time to sell but cant heat. I would like to upgrade a bit.

  3. Holy Diver, I know how you feel. It sure is hard juggling it all. I often times wonder if and for how much longer I can do it all. I am very fortunate to have all that I have for my family and myself to enjoy. If push comes to shove the boat would go in a heartbeat over my property I own. Nobody ever said a boat is an investment. At least nobody who ever owned one for very long. Snap up property while you can because it is only going to become less scarce, and expensive as you are finding out. If your property has timber potential on it and the prices of timber come back, you can buy another boat and then some. I haven't been without a boat for a long time and it would be a sad day for sure if I had to sell and not replace it. I think you are making a sound decision and a very unselfish one at that.

Andy, I feel your pain. That sure gets old fast. Pay for the land, up keep, and don't forget about the taxes and then have people steal stands, trail cameras and stink up your private acreage.

  4. FYI I replaced 4 motors in my old '96 Seaswirl Striper. I spent the extra money and put in a JASPER Remanufactured motor in it. BIG MISTAKE!!! True they had a 18 month warranty on the original motor, but not on the other motors that were replaced. I had three Jasper motors replaced in just under 18 months. I would have been paying out of pocket again if that motor cut loose again. By the way, you have to send the motor back to Jasper while they tear it down to decide if it was their fault or not. Granted, they admitted fault every time and it didnt cost me anything other than downtime. If I had to do it again, it would go to Hank at L&M for a rebuild. I asked Jasper nicely to give me a new 18 month warranty on the last motor but they wouldnt budge. Most of that warranty ticked away during the winter months also. I told Jasper I would do them dirty every chance I could and they could have cared less. Good luck, I feel for you. By the way I spent about 7 grand originally thinking I would do it right the first time. New coupler, bellows, gimbal bearing, carb. job, etc. I traded that boat in (at real boneing) before the warranty expired because I didnt trust it. I told the whole story to the marina I traded at. I heard later from the guy that the motor had problems again the very next season. Sorry for the rant. I'm still pissed!!!! Think i will go have a beer

  5. That bike path makes a real easy way in and out with weeds on both sides and not well lit. I always thought that was a super highway for thieves. We shouldnt have to have security systems on our boats while they are slipped. I lock tackle and rods and such in the cabin and take reasonable effort to lock stuff up but the hasnt even helped others. Robbery shouldnt exist at wrights with what we pay for the season. 24 hour security and safety etc. is in the sales pitch when you pay for the slip but is very poor. Wait till harbor fest this weekend. Havent changed the combo on the private bath houses in at least three years. Everyone in Oswego and more knows the combo. The doors never even close during harbor fest. Looks like a stake out with the turkey gun and enough beer to last a few days may be in order. BANG!!!!

  6. My last boat was about what you are looking for. It was a 21.5 seaswirl hardtop with a doghouse. I liked the boat and caught a lot of fish from it, but I always thought the doghouse was a pain. I went to a 27 foot Searay Amberjack with no doghouse and I personally would never consider another boat with a doghouse again. Just my opinion
