  1. We took the new boat out for our first trip friday. We set up in 60fow with a great screen just east of port. We just could not get those fish to go so we slid out to 80'. We ran a 6 spin doc with siggs flys spread, 4 riggers two wires. Our best producer for the day was (as usual) the white on white spinny with a mirage crinkle siggs. We ran that on the wire out '220. Our other solid producer for the day was a 42 sec spinny with a siggs 42 fly. Every mature king we are catching are males. Are the females just not coming in close yet???? Here's a pic of the first king that hit the deck on the new boat and my biggest of the year....29#5oz!!!!!

  3. I've used most rod holders and in my humble opinion nothing compares to the berts ratchet rod holders. We use the big jons for our planer lines and the berts for our wire setups. There is no problem at all getting the rod out of the holder when a fish strikes. Just grab the rod and pull it towards you and it comes right out. Last I knew they went for about $80 a piece and worth every penny.
  4. My bro in law and I took a buddy of mine and his two boys to the oak today. The oldest boy leaves for the army in two weeks. We figured we might as well put him on his first king before he leaves to serve his country. Anyways, we powered out towards the pumphouse and starting marking good fish in 80fow. As soon as I set the middle rigger with a white spinny and a siggs mirage fly it pops and the new guy is hooked up with a nice king. We never did find any good temps in tight (65deg with 80' of cable out in 80 t0 90 fow) but the fish were there. Our most productive setups of the day were the 42sec spin doc and siggs 42fly, DW tranny's mupped, siggs green dolphin behind a gator spin doc and DW ss deathwish. Had a nice catch of steelhead, kings and beautiful browns. All our fish were caught in less than 100fow and pretty tight to the bottom. East troll was the ticket at 2.5 downspeed. The two young anglers even decided to "chum" a few times to attract the fish....maybe that was our secret weapon today
  5. I now have two of these and have no use for them. They both have the price tag on them. No "reasonable" offer refused...

    26' baha

I'm looking to upgrade to a larger boat. This weekend I will be going on a test ride on a 1990 26' baha cruiser. We currently have a 22.5 crestliner sabre that I don't really want to part with. Anyways, I would appreciate any and all opinions on 26 baha's.
  11. forgot to mention we also won the comeback award in the am division...lol
  12. This year we decided we would test our luck in a pro am. Friday we started right in front of port in 80 to 220fow. We had a very respectable day with some good kings. Saturday morning we were very confident as we left the dock until we reached the lake and realized there was going to be a very stiff NE to deal with. We figured our 22' crestliner would be rocking and rolling! Right from the get go we started hitting fish. A laker was the first fish 30' down over 80. That right there should have told us to leave that area but we stuck to our program not wanting to get too far from port. We then proceeded to catch 6 kings that all measured about 17.5". We ended the day with only three keepers. A laker, small king and a beautiful atlantic. Sunday we figured we better do something very different to redeem ourselves. Everyone we spoke with said the fish are west. We are the type of fishermen that usually try to stay as far away from other people as possible so the logical choice was to go deep and east. We powered out to 350fow and started setting up and right away we were hooked up. A small king hit the deck and we were pretty sure it was going to be a much better day. About 400fow the 10 colors and the 42' rigger started going nuts!! A very nice king hit out port rigger and as he got close to the boat he decided he was going to create a little havoc. He dove under three riggers and plowed face first into the prop!!! Somehow we managed to land that fish even though 75% of his face was cut off. The only part left was the little corner of the mouth where our hook was. By 9 am we had 7 very respectable fish in the box. Wow....4 hours to go and we only need 2 more fish. Then the disease called skipperitis kicked in. We couldn't buy a legal fish. At around 11 we finally landed another nice king and never did get that 9th fish. At the weigh in it looked like we could make a little charge up the leader board. We ended up with around 155 or so points for day 2 but only 46 or 48 for day 1. We did manage to finish 4th and we could not have been happier!! Our hottest set ups for the weekend were basically any SS that was green or orange and in the top 60fow. The 10 colors did most of our fish. A special thank you to everybody who has anything to do with the pro am tourny and to our spotter "cheers". You guys put on a great event!!!!!!
  13. we'll be out there 22.5 crestliner sabre red and white on 16 or 68 "slim shaddy"
  14. hey laker taker...I think I remember seeing you guys. Yes it was a great day to be out there. It's not too often that the fish on hemlock are so cooperative. The water color is perfect right now. I fish just about every lake I can find but I don't think there is anyplace quite like hemlock. Hopefully it stays the way it is for many more generations to enjoy.
  15. We didn't have much time today so my buddy and I decided to take his nephew out on Hemlock for a morning trip. We started setting lines around 6:15 and within 10 minutes we had a really good double going. We landed a 8.5 lb laker and lost a really big brown that hit a j-9 fire tiger on a 4 color. The laker smacked a white echip with a siggs green hyp. The highlight of the day was a 8lb rainbow that hit a ss dwb on a walleye board. That fish put on quite a show for the nephew!!!! The green hyp on the wire and a green hammer were our best producers for the day. I'm not quite sure but I believe we finished 8 for 10 with most of the fish around 8lbs or so. After the sun came up the bite slowed right down so we decided to call it a day and we were out of the water by 10:15. All in all is was a great day to be on Hemlock
  16. yup, we saw you guys. At first I thought it was someone yelling because they thought we were too close. I was thinking WTF are these guys screaming about. lol Then I got the binocks out and saw little cheers jumping around Did you guys end up landing that double? Pretty cool to see them flopping around on top way back there.
  17. I have a 10lb shark i'm looking to get rid of. PM me if you are interested.
  18. We run a 22' crestliner sabre. That was us you followed into Wilson harbor. Hey cheers....i'm trying to keep K on a steady diet of BV and coke!!!
  19. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: a bunch Total Boated:a bunch Species Breakdown:kings and 1 coho Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: 2.7 Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Today we decided to make the trip from Wayland to Wilson to put a couple kings in the hands of a newbie. We powered about 3 miles west of wilson and had a ton of huge marks in 90fow but the water was clear and COLD. In there we only could manage the one coho so we set out further west. Once we hit the green water all hell broke loose. The new guy had his hands full, a 300 wire would fire, he would fight that fish for a few minutes then another wire would fire and we would send him to the "fresh" fish. Once his arms were dragging on the floor the 600 copper would go and everybody would just back away and tell him to go after it. All in all he probably fought 8 kings over 18lbs. What a way to kick off his king salmon addiction I guess our hottest setup would have been a white pro troll flasher with a siggs blue/green fly. The boys said not to put anymore fish on our board as they couldn't hold it up anymore...lol and sorry about the bloody pics, it was the best I could do at the time! ====================
