Well the conditions were very good when we got out on the water at 4:50am and what a morning it was. 10/15. 1 double and 1 triple. lost 3 fish at the back of the boat in a row. Statred to question my rod handling and netting skills then we boated 6 more after that. . seem the fish were hitting everything. spoons and stickbaits between 10-15fow.

Yes the water in the river is brown. But its a river. The ride is not that bad it gives you time to gear up. The river is clearly mark with bouys. As long as you stay in them your fine. My dock is the last dock down the river and its still 8'+ deep.

Stickbaits have always been the best for me until this year i've caught 80% of the browns on spoons. I still run stickbaits but spoons have been hot for me this year.

I use Diawa's 47LC on all my setups. They work fine. they hold plently of 30lb test in the summer and hold plenty of 10lb for spring.

The near shore brown fishing should last 2-3 more weeks. But of course it depends on the weather. The cold front were having here CNY region should prolong the shore fishing. Last year i was catching browns in early june in 10fow.

Got a late start for me(6:00am on the water) Went east instead of west. First time this year. Ended up picking at them in the am. went 3/4. All nice size browns in the 4lb - 8lb range. all came off the boards in 10-20fow on spoons. With this cold weather this week hopefully the browns will stay in shallow for a little longer.

That bridge is tight because the water is still high. As long as you stay in the middle it's no problem. Ill look for you next time.

After the past month of good fishing for us this tough spring fishing has caught up to us. We did 1 brown and 1 bass. Which was a double. . in the morning. I thought the west winds this week would of help.

Sticks Route 104B County Route 6, New Haven, NY has motel rooms and i think mikes marina rents out something and there is several motels in port ontario which is down the road from the little salmon.

Well fishing seems to still be hit or miss. We had a good morning fish 6-9:30am and went 5/5. We caught 4 in a row. Then nothing until we were ready to pack up we pick up are last one. It wasnt fast action all morning but we had fun. We fish in 10-20fow all boards and small spoons.
