Keith, Scott, Rob thank you for all your hard work and effort you've put into the Shootout I'm looking forward to a great weekend of fishing and far more important an afternoon getting to meet the guys that that call Sandy home port

Fished with Gator and my buddy Ryan this morning. Started off in 110 and it was crazy right out of the gate. Lots really nice kings in the teens and 20's. We did one coho, a couple lakers and a couple steelhead. Had a huge rip on the 300 copper and it almost spooled us until we got turned. After a long battle, we boated a 25lb king hooked in the dorsal fin . Another great trip out of Sandy. Congrats too all the people that placed in the LOC derby.
Brian you let Gator on your boat !!! are u crazy or did he whisper visions of lakers galore and a whole lot more Great job on the fish and I'd really like to see the second rudder on your Otter Boards. Maybe after the shootout I can take a peek at them ?

A little rough out there for my setup, but still fun nonetheless. Ended up with a 26" laker and a 32" king. I'm surprised that nothing touched the familiar bite whole alewives that I ran at 250-300ft out on the #3 setting with wire.
Matt,
I'm not an expert by any means but all my divers are "set" on a #2 setting. If you only run 2 which I'm guessing you are there's no need to have them that far off to the side. You should be looking for depth not spread and my divers ROCKED this weekend at 275'-300' with most of the bigger kings coming on them. Keep at it and good luck

We went 19 for 26 with almost the same bag Kings, Lakers and a couple Browns thrown in. Best fish was 20ish with 5 being 14-16 lbs. nice fish just not your going to the scales with. we were inside you Scott, I' ll be right in the same spot unless Gator wants to work that secret spot they did there MAJORS today in the AM.
Good report Scott and thanks for sharing with the LOU board
Spin docs did almost all our fish with the wire parked at 300'

Entries should be fine and of of the boats from outside of sandy , only a few are fishing pro ams. Ill give an update after this weekend. Last year we had 29 teams and with what im hearing, hopefully we will beat that. 2 times the number of sponsors as last year also.

Sounds awesome but I have no clue where mexico bay is. I launch my 17 ft tird at sandy creek. How far are you?

Doesnt the snubber make it look more unnatural than it already does? What purpose does it serve? Thanks
The snubber adds a stress relief for the terminal gear that is taking the hit.... as far as unnatural , the basic idea is a big fish slashing thru bait and the fly is a bait fish that did not get eaten. They don't really care about "presentation"

I could put you in contact with a old friend who could name them all, then he's going to try and buy it all. He's been at it for 35 plus years. You COULD have some serious coin there. If you have any original boxes they raise the value big time !!!!
PM me if you want me to have him call you. His name is Kyle

ooohhh speedos AND vasoline hmmmmmmmm maybe TEAM BUFFY will give it a go..
HEY WHERE DID EVERYONE GO ???
I'm scared.Your not the only one..... we were talking about a FISHING tourney here for a short while then Silver Fox put on his speedo and the missy boys broke out there Crocs then someone threw in some Vaseline and we got Ray Koziatek get all excited like this is his favorite Buffy site or something
Hambley how many are confrimed now ???

stevo, i put a 15' section of mono in between power pro backing and leadcore for running on boards. best, mark
Not sure why you'd put a piece of mono between your lead and the powerpro, if you have the right releases it's no problem even with a 7,8 or 10 color lead core ???

New name " Nothing But Speedo"!
Now I'm gonna have night mares just thinking about that Scott, thanks alot. I may never be able to board that boat again, That's probably going to turn into a "team uniform" Captain Skippy in a SPEEDO.
-
So let me get this straight , now I gotta tell the old lady I'M fishing ALL weekend. Keith your definitively gonna be top on her S!@T list now. And if I gotta see Gator in a speedo I gonna carve my own eyes out with an old rusty NK mag spoon
-
Well Done Men,
The only thing Triple S did was b!@#h about the weather forecast and think about how good Saturday probably was. Glad to hear you finished 2nd
-
I've got a 13 lb Rigdeback that needs a new home. Make me an offer, they sell for $70 new and it's only seen water 1 time.
-
Carpedeim,
I have run straight 20lb Ande for the last 10 years with a Flouro leader and never had any problems with break offs , just a novice that thought he'd SLAM the hook home after a 200 yrd. run on a big king last year. As far as 4 releases you did good we were 1 for 2 and it was a 1 lb king 50 down over 190' on a DW Sniznit SS 40 back. Keep at it , it's going to get a lot better in a few weeks, just need to get threw the June set up period then all hell breaks lose out there.
-
Brian,
IF ya still got it consider it sold !!! Next time I'm at the Marina and Your there will hook up. Call me 309-2419 or PM me might be out Sun.6/5
-
At least you SAW him, all we got over at Sandy was a THUNDERING HORN that scared the S!@T out of us and put us on high alert till we knew he was just to are north about the time we could hear the prop churning a couple hundred yards behind us
