  2. High Bidder,

A very knowledgeable coworker was the prop builder for Spinnelli Bros. and he walked me thru my prop buy. Every 2 inches of pitch should drop you about 200 rpms. hope this info helps alittle.

  3. Nice Job Foster...... and thanks for the report.....

We didn't have the kahunas to try it..... maybe tomorrow afternoon it'll lighten up some...

    Mike,

Why wait for it to lay down I just looked at the Bouy and she's rocking at 13.8' maybe the fish will be in the top 10'. We should be able to see them in the trough of each wave. Probably work some glo bugs on a 8 wt. and get them to take

  4. Sustained winds over 20 knots for an entire 12-hour period. Winds over 27 knots for four hours. Waves peaking at 9.8 ft. Anybody else remember a couple years ago when she flipped three times inside ten days and it was all over? History repeats itself.

    Gator

Come on Gator, at least that time we had a TON of sharks swimming around off Braddocks . This year well I don't need to tell you. On a different note we could do 9.8' ers in the Lund....:lol::lol: just would have left the bilge on all the time

  5. For someone who did not want to be a smart a$$ you certainly did not pull any punches Steve. If you recall Steve only the boat had to be registered for the LOC daily derby.

To answer your question Todd, yes everyone must be entered who are 16 years and older as an adult, 10 - 15 years old as a youth. The charter captain and mates must also be registered and I think some charters get a some kind of pass but they can not enter a fish. You can get a one day registration.

    Shade

Don't be so sensitive Shade, if someone reads the Regs. they are pretty straight forward. As far as the "daily derby" you already know it NEVER happened. Good luck in the Derby

  6. Todd,

Don't really want to be a smart ass but why would the BOAT need to be entered ???? if there's no one on board can your boat catch fish all by it's self. Read the regs. ALL occupants on board MUST be registered unless their 10 years old or younger.

  7. When I knocked off at 9:45 this AM the inside water had gotten even COLDER than when I left Sandy at 5:30. First thing had 48 down 40' and ended with 42 down 35' so hope everyone wants to go OFFSHORE in the AM. Good luck 500-600 was good from what I heard. Just not ready to go 12 miles offshore with T-Storms in the forecast.

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

Well lets summarize the trip with the stop at 40' because I wasn't getting any depth from the Lowrance. Put my hand on the transducer and realize the BOTTOM of it is not there !!! WTF, top looks fine but nothing under it. Rely on Moor for speed/temp only to find 2 of the paddles on wheel got broke in storage so who knows how accurate that was either. Should have stayed home this trip ended up costing a least 500 bucks.:@:swear:

Well it was yet another day of small kings with a few decent browns mixed in. Kings up to 7lbs and browns to 10 lbs. The icing on the cake was 1 major that was hooked on a spin doc out 300' made it's first blast as a newby is trying to change it's mind. "Good luck" I say as the rod goes limp, now reel as FAST as you can, fish turns away from the boat and breaks the snubber!!!! It was funny to see the look on his face. I try to tell him he did nothing wrong but he feels like crap for losing the rig. I think Dan will want a re-match when he's asked to go out again.

  10. this is a great idea!!! I know this a new thing but i would just like to put my vote in by saying would love to see this get expanded to other ports!!!

Then get in on this thing and "BE" a part of it , so far there's not enough boats to make all the effort seem worth it. Keith , Scott and Rob have put a lot of work into it. I would like to say Thank you for starting something special at our home port.:yes::yes:

  11. Had a problem with my Lcx 26 that I put on the boat in 2006. Sent it back to Lowrance and heard from customer support that a new unit would be back in 5-7 business days. With 8 days till my annual fishing trip no unit and I'm NOT happy, call tech support and end up being put through to a VERY helpful woman who not only gets to the bottom of my problem but does something I never expected. She upgrades my unit to a 2009 Lcx 28, better unit with a 30 gig hard drive and more pre loaded software. There's stuff on this thing that I will NEVER use. The new unit is awesome. Tracks the bottom at 45 mph because of the 8000 watts peak/peak power and the definition is well lets just say I can see my downrigger release at 100' .

    Good luck,

    Steve

  12. Why stop at 50 lb. test go with 80 or maybe 130 and some penn 130 internationals and some roller tip rods :lol: . Sorry I couldn't resist fleas are a nuisance but, one that you'll have to deal with. If the fishing is as good as it has been then in 3 weeks than you should be fighting fish so frequently there won't be time for them to build up on your 30 lb. test.

    Steve

  13. Scott,

Team Nothin But Net /Triple S put a hurting on the " Skippies" today but, isn't that what Captain Keith H. is known for (JK) we went something like 16 for 20 today. All but 1 fish was less than 5 lbs. A nice atlantic that didn't make it, hooked way to deep. Wire out 220' was smoking hot with a DW gator. We left the creek at 5:15 and made Braddocks at 8:30 taking fish almost all the way.

Keith let Dean and myself torture the little kings for most of the morning and then the rigger parked at 115' with a 42 second spin doc goes while I'm standing next to it, set the hook and, being that I'm a nice guy I give him the only REAL fish of the trip. King about 20 +/- a few.

It was a good morning till the forecasted 1-3' turned to steady 4's wit white on top.

High light of the trip was a steelhead that cracked off a spoon and rocketed an honest 8' to 10' out of the water on Dean, I've NEVER seen a fish come that far out of the water.
