13 or 14 years old still runs great. The shaft is just to short for BIG water, out of the water more than in. Went with a 54" on the Terrova that was just installed. $50 and its yours.

Gentleman,
Take this for what its worth, I've got a contact at US Customs office. Spoke with him this afternoon about this in great detail, his response was this. There is NO NEED to get a I68 form if your not going to touch Canadian soil. As mentioned earlier by Gator. The Coast Guard has no juristiction in Canadian waters, it would be the OPP and as long as you have your passport or ID there will be no issues
Good luck and Tight Lines,

Funny this topic came up, I just won the Steelhead division in the fall the tax rate I broke into was alittle more than 30%. When all was said and done they (IRS) hit me for 48% of my winnings. Word to the wise, don't pay your fishing partner half till you take out the taxes! $2600 ended up netting me 400 bucks.

See you at the Niagra Bar, unless you want browns. The history speaks for its self.

Sliverfox,
Scott I was in 390' of water trying to find a temp that was a little deeper than 30-35' down. Caught a smaller fish 10 min. before that one. Ran right back out after weighing in the steelhead shut down in 380' and smashed 2 more 2 year old kings. Real good action this year on a straight white 10" spindoc from A-TOM-IK goes on every trip at least 2-3 times

The same here but numbers were alittle better, 5 for 5 on Sat. 5 for 5 Sun. Did weigh in #1 steelhead #18.09 the most exciting 35 seconds of my life. This fish hite 35' down and 25' back out of the water 4' taildance at the boat I'm yelling at my net man to clear the wire and he picks up the net with this very pissed of cromer already in the boat!!!! Unbelieveable, the fish didn't even have a chance.

Lucky for you I didn't sleep in!!!! What do you think I'm on vacation or something. It's derby time. Had a great day even though they were all small. Great to see AIRBOURNE steelhead.

Coup,
If it means anything, I've had a summer king take 650' on the first run. Needless to say it came up on the backside of a "windferry" aka. sailboat doing cartwheels and broke off the whole rig.

Gentlemen,
I'm going to set up a leadcore rod and have already picked up the "ready made setup" 300' dacron, 300' 27# core and the leader. What size reel should I be looking at?

Got out real early and it was a good thing. Lauched at 5:45 out of Ibay and ran towards webster park shut down at muddy water from shipbuilders 200 yrds. east, then bang. Double up but lose one on Bomber clown, land Blk/Silver challenger nice brown don't really have high hopes that it will Stick #13.3 The lake got real snotty about 7:30 tough to control boat and boards.

Bruce,
I worked the dropp off braddocks last night from 5 to 8. Unbelievable amounts off fish in 80-90 fow. Only turned 1 coho about 15 lbs. When we ran in to the river I had to stop and try the 60 fow range because it looked great, fish every where bait all over but takers. Whats your boat look like, I'm in a 19' Lund Pro V Se green daul console. Radio Triple SSS on 72 will be out this weekend unless weather gets nasty.

here's an idea, don't lauch out of the bay. For what it's worth I sandblasted my $500 stainless screw coming out of there about a month ago. Don't get me wrong the structure in front of the bay is great, but you shouldn't have to push your boat acrossed a sand bar to get there.

Never had an issue with interference and, yes the the stacker release can scratch the coating on the cable but would you rather not run the second rod?
