Brad, we've stayed in those cabins many times. They are always clean, comfortable and dry.. The ones we've rented all had a bathroom, fridge with a freezer, kitchen stove and sink with running water, a family size table and several adirondak style chairs and a screened porch..most have a fireplace as well.

I've kept my boat on site and left grills, chairs, coolers etc outside and never had a problem... We try to get a cabin close to the showers, although none of them are very far away..

I observed for your team last year in Oswego, thanks for the spoons you gave me, a couple found their way into my "favorites" box.

If anyone is looking for a real sweet 7' Dipsey rod Jeff and his dad the Fish Doctor make a quality rod with the right action

Fish Doctor is one who turned me on to the short stick, since then I've switched to 6'6" and 7' rods for the riggers as well.

Ray, where are you getting the swivel/roller rod tips ? I found them in the Jann's Netcraft cataloge but they're a bit on the pricey side.

Blackdog, several Capt.s I know run 7' dipsey rods .. Last year I decided to give them a try.. I used 7', 1 piece, Shimano TDR medium rods (TDR-70MB) and I'll never go back to a long rod ( I was running 9'6" rods).. I fish out of a 19' Islander and find the short rods easier to handle and store .. I have Scotty outdowns with 4' booms and haven't had any problems with clearance, using up to a 9' lead from the dipsey back hasn't been an issue when netting either..

The Accudepth+ reels are the way to go unless money is no object, I run 4 of them and know a bunch of guys who use them with no issues (except the price has gone up twice since I bought mine)..

Thanks for the info guys.. I'm going with the Gold and the Fishn Chip , I'm gonna have to upgrade the GPS to handle those choices .. so it's time to go shopping

What map chip would you recommend for the best contours in L.O. ??

I'm going to upgrade my GPS unit this year and want to get something that will run the best mapping chip....I usually fish the Eastern Basin, but I try to get to Olcott each May

I've used this knot to terminate my rigger wire to a heavy snap swivel for two years with no problems.. I used it the first time as an emergency repair on the water, but now use it for all my wires..

I'm looking at a pair of Eagle Feet to mount a rigger board. Does anyone have any experiance with these?? I have a 19' Islander, I guess it mounts to the rubrail on the boat...Is it sturdy enough??

I ran a pair of TDR 9' MH with wire dipseys for 3 yrs. Liked 'em a lot. I fish out of a 19' and they were a little hard to handle due to length..This year I picked up a pair of TDR 7' M, not designated as a dipsey rod, but I'm going to give 'em a try..Last year I made the move to shorter rigger rods and have wanted to drop down to 7 fters

FWIW, I ran the wire on Diawa Accudepth+ 27 reels last year, very happy with them, solid reel with great drags..can't go wrong for the money ( but I see the price is starting to creep up)

Use that same propwash tactic on "O" for Coho..Favorite lure is a Bomber long A . Color is a blue back,chartruese flash sides, orange belly. Depending on speed I use either a straight or jointed..just enough weight to keep it under the surface, run just at the end of the prop-wash ..

Hey Shawn, welcome. I'm a new poster on this board too. Watched from the sidelines for a while and learned a lot...I spent many hours trolling Lake Geo. , seems like the LandLocks have dropped off quite a bit up there, we can still do OK on the Lakers but have a problem hooking up with them silvers.........I spend most of my fishing time up on "O" now........gotta love it..

Blue Eye-My wife didn't understand that the dozen Savant spoons in "pretty" colors were intended to be romantic..

Musky- I usually launch and dock in Oswego about 15 or so times July-Sept

Ray- I've tried Stripers a few times, usally anchored with bait, I've talked with a few guys who troll with J plugs and do well..If your ever looking for someone to fill an empty seat let me know for sure, If your hooking up 20-60 times a day I'm in ANYTIME.. I'm retired and have a flexable schedule

Hi, my name is Joe, I'm addicted to trolling..boat name is GOTAWAY, a '86 19' Starcraft Islander.. Up until this yaer I've trailered from Esperance (20 miles SW of Albany) fishing Fairhaven in the spring, Oswego summer/fall..If I can find dockage or dry storage in Fairhaven I plan on leaving the boat up there this year..My crew is mostly my son, son-in-law filled in with a few friends and my grandchildren..I've fished Ontario for about 10 yrs (7 trying to learn myself=NG..3 learning from this and the GLA site + Capt Ernie Langtiegn = being able to reliably put a few fish in the cooler)

I've slowly added gear , each year figuring I've got everything I need , only to find "one" more thing I gotta have..This is the year I'll learn to run copper....this seens like a friendly place to hang out, and it's nice that the info is pertinent to Lake "O", I've spent way to much time trying what is reported to work in the western lakes
