In the voice of Jack Nicholson. ......

I wouldn't let any experts from the fishing community see this but, you can avoid the inevitable copper/diver FUBAR...just put them both together before the FUBAR. Now does that make any sense? Wire and diver...diver and wire...copper is wire?

  3. Exactly as predicted Jerry. However now the left leaning media sources are allowing parsed words to help GLAM committee "experts" downplay liability for human intervention with Saint Lawrence River flows. IJC having put the human intervention in deterring what mother nature does in this system isn't a reason to blame her for the bad results. It rains, sometimes it rains more than predicted.....huh predicted, great word in weather patterns, but the lefties will take the flooding banner and jump on the stump...exclaim SEE, WE NEED WIND TURBINES TO STOP THESE WEATHER ANOMALIES!....never.

You're absolutely right! They were busy when I got there. Only maybe 4 or 5 spaces for trailers left. What was really impressive is the ingenuity on the docks that cost literally peanuts to accommodate their launch. Then even more impressive was after the day was long over for most the fishing crews, the bathroom was stunningly clean, and didn't even smell like a public john! What a nice experience for 8 bucks!...meanwhile the state drops the ball once again. I feel all the 85 dollar empire pass holders should class action the governor for the money back...probably he will enhance long island marine parks with it.

Thanks to all who maintain Newfane Marine Park! Score 10 out of 10!

Thanks!, we had a great time, and Craig is trying my famous recipe for grilled coho this evening! Matt was ready to eat the fish raw when he came to pickup the fillets...he was hungry!

  7. Got the boat in Thursday solo at the Black North. Ramp and dock is good, beware of the usual metal hull gouging posts that are nearly submerged at the end of the docks. Set out 330 on the compass, stopped at 200 fow and played out three rods off the riggers and ran cheaters on spoons at the ball, also a flasher fly and a twinkie meat rig. It's 5pm afternoon and just went north to try stuff out and ended up in 300 to 410 fow where the screen was at least showing predators but no bait. 8pm now the sun is low and finally start getting action. All Kings and a swipe and miss all on the meat rig behind a pro troll paddle echip. Everything else just washed. Biggest king about 15-16 lbs was very strong and peeled about 400 or 500 feet of line. Fought hard and the sun was on the water now. 20170609_163826.jpg

Today I had friends on board and went to Olcott to launch. Docks are very well done. The park is imaculate! Kudos to the Village Marina!..ran west an ended up a little west of Wilson, trolled NW and ended up about 5 to 6 miles NE of the red can in 300 to 350 fow where the screen was loaded with predators and surprisingly little bait as before. Ran six rods combo for Coho, kings with two meat rigs deep 90 and 100 down in 46 degrees roughly. The divers out on 2.5 200 and 250 with flasher flies. Center rigger spooned and cheated for Ho's at 50. The divers F/F spinney were the aces today with just one coho and a steelhead, everthing else washed. Evidently the full moon had the morning bite off for the most part. They were there, but non responsive picked up at 1pm. 20170610_100123.jpgIMG_15641.jpg

You know, I just can't stand being away for weeks at a time, having to endure truck stop groceries! I love my BBQ smoker, and my wild things on it! Ah, the life off the road! You know the song? Willie Nelsons "On The Road Again"....mine is Off the road again! Can't wait to get off the road again![emoji108][emoji108]

  9. You will be fine with semi. I use it in an oil injection 225 yamaha. Haven't noticed any more oil use or any fouling on plugs, but I use Lucas fuel condition in the gas too.
Unless you are confident in adjustments to the oil injection pump link, I would have a qualified tech check it. It has to be synchronize with the throttle position.

  10. If the old impeller disintegrated, be sure you get all pieces out of everything. I like to use petroleum jelly on the new one for initial startup. Run it in a tub if you can as a precheck. Hope she works for ya!

  11. Normally just an alarm sounds, but then there is a failsafe after that on some models that goes into slow mode. If you didn't see steam boiling out of the pee hole or paint peeling from the head or it got so hot you could fry an egg on the head, there likely is no trouble. I would maybe look the specs up on headbolt torque, and check them just to be sure. In an extreme case of paint peeling off hot engine parts you might h8ave gasket issues. Beyond that it should be ok with new impeller or maybe a kit with the impeller and cup it sits in.

  12. Lol! Well the recipe just begins in the field, woods, or the lake. The salmon is grilled on charcoal and hickory wood as is the venison chop.
Salmon is coated with melted butter/ olive oil/white wine mix that has sautéed chop garlic, chives, and parsely. Old bay seasoning and salmon rub added to taste. No salt added. The rub has the salt. (High mountain seasonings salmon rub). Put the fillets in shallow glass baking dish and smother them with the liquid Sautee mixture. Place in a fridge and let the mixture solidify on the fillets. Put the fillets in a fish grilling clamshell basket. Cook till 135 degrees internal on low coals with top covered on grill . Use the left over Sautee mixture in the baking dish to baste as it grills. Watch for flame up from drippings. Turn the baskets until outside is just browning.
Venison is just how you like to do them on the grill. I just often use spiedie sauce from chavettas but any marinade you like will work for grilling. Venison is best for me at the same temp as the fish...135 degrees. 145 max.
    Hope this clears things up![emoji6]
