Hey guys....are the docks at Sandy Creek (Hamlin) raised? Can we launch there now? I passed by on Friday and it was still closed off.
Sandy Creek Marina is closed until a new owner takes over. The docks were raised at East Forks which does not have a public launch to my knowledge.

Nice Brian, glad to start hear reports out of the creek. Thanks again to you and all who helped get those docks raised.
-
To all that helped do this you have my appreciation and prove that I am at a great marina where we all pull together. Thank you for all your hard work and tight lines.

The boat is not in the water yet do to high water related docking and launching issues, so no reports yet this year. Having said that not a big fan of a majority of us being "chastised" for not posting by a users with 37 and 100 posts. You kind of get what you give. Lots of people willing to help here, but you will find that they are more willing to do it out of kindness and being asked instead of being told its a responsibility. I have never had an issue getting info from lake guys here. Sometimes a PM is the way to go as guys don't always want thier reports to make them a target of follow the leader when they get on the water.

As Per WHEC.com:
The Town of Irondequoit has decided to temporarily close the public boat launch located at the Irondequoit Bay Marine in Sea Breeze due to flood waters.
Canoes and kayaks will still be permitted to launch from the park, but may not access the docks or ramp.
The launch has become flooded with debris and much of it is under water, which poses a public safety risk.
The public will be notified as the status of the launch site changes, which depends on the receding levels of the water.

Watched a couple of guys launch a bass boat there Saturday. It was a wet chore but they did launch.

Finger Lakes Tackle still has pictures of the spoon, but I would warn you not to order any from the websites as there are large threads of people who have not received there orders and money issues regarding refunds. http://fingerlakestackle.com/products?keywords=Black+meat
If you need someone to paint spoons for you I would recommend Nick at Hybridlures (www.hybridlures.com), he has awesome skills.

That is a lifetime memory! Great job.

Adding nutrients back into the lake
Well it looks like a side effect of all this flooding on the big lake is adding some nutrients back into the lake. Just not the Ideal ones:
Faced with a lakeshore sewer system brimming with flood water, Greece began pumping partly treated sewage into Long Pond on Monday.
The emergency discharge was continuing Tuesday, town Supervisor Bill Reilich said.
"Had we done nothing we would have had the possibility of sewage pouring into people’s basements," he said. The sewage is chlorinated before being pumped into the pond, Reilich said. State environmental officials were informed of the emergency action.
Monroe County released 3.4 million gallons of stormwater and untreated sewage into the Genesee River about 6:30 p.m. Monday after the rainfall filled available storage. Sanitary sewage and stormwater that's collected in curbside drains share a combined sewer system in the city of Rochester, and can overflow after heavy rains.

Hi Duke, welcome aboard, lots of info to be had here. Best bet is to ask more specific questions and plenty of the guys here will give you answers. Also most question have been asked before so the search function can be your best friend. Lots of the clubs offer round tables during the offseason which can help your learning curve. Last but not least most guys will recommend taking a charter and tell the captain you want it to be a learning trip. This will be the fastest way to get up to speed. No matter what you choose if you put effort in you will catch fish it's just a matter of how quick you want to speed up the learning curve. Good luck this year.

I have seen pictures and videos on the Conesus Lake Facebook page of pike starting a run about a week or so ago but haven't heard much lately. The high water made the jump over the dam become more of a swim over the dam.

Hey I applaud your troubleshooting!
-
Scott you are quite the troubleshooter. We should get you on the local news. "Here is Scott on your side with a story of uninstalled docks, and how he got the man to install them!"
-
This would suck for The Sandy Creek Shootout. Not a lot of transitory dockage with that closed.

Sorry but the number you dialed has been disconnected.............. I'm glad I saw the writing on the wall a couple years ago and made the move. I feel sorry for the guys he screwed over. Bailing on everyone just before the season. This should have been done months ago to give people time to find another option.
So glad I moved last year to. The guys dockeddown there are great but the atmosphere at East Fork is so much better with the way Tommy runs it. Amazing how one guy can have such a negative impact on the atmosphere down there. Hoping all the guys hurt by this find a solution quick. Sandy fisherman are great guys and didn't deserve this rug being pulled on them.

Keith I was having my 18# brown trout done back then too and had to go in to get it because when I called them about what was going on I was told she had cancer and didn't know when or if she was going to be able to get it done. I wasn't able to get my down payment $ back but did get my brown (hope it was mine back) and had it done elsewhere.
Well back to Bob FLT (Fleeing Like Thief) he called me and wanted me to give him a bunch of money like $1,000 or more for him to get some equipment to make the process of producing the spoons faster and would be some sort of partner thing.....Yeah I was going to do that right after I supplied him with the paints to paint the 16TH OR 17TH chapel .
I purchased a bunch of spoons back in the day and actually had him paint some custom stuff way before he became "big time" .
He did have some health issues which is absolutely no excuse but he became a freaking NUT JOB when it came to how he handled other spoon manufactures copying his patterns which should he should have taken as a compliment instead of bashing them publicly! make a better product and a reasonable price with good service and it wouldn't matter if the pope himself was making the spoons in whatever that chapel is called.
I think Rick Hajecki nailed it when he called him out on FB about that.
So how do I get a hold of this guy Nick that is producing spoons y'all are talking about? Web site or FB page? is there some pics of his spoons on here?
I know Narby's had a box of his spoons they were getting rid of too.
Check out this Thread for a few pictures of his work. Hybrid Lures is the name of the company and Nick has been very responsive to my questions and great turn around on the work I sent him. bridlures.simdif.com

Nice job On those Nick. As predicted I got a bunch of NK'sat the flea market and should be sending them out to you for some of your great work. Are you still looking at getting tape for bigger spoons?

Thanks for the info. Only bad thing I have heard about weighted steel is they are extremely tough on rod guides and eyes.
