  1. Live on the lake for 7 years now. For the first time last week, caught a rainbow 2 days in a row. Released of course, both of them. Hoping the funding does not Go away, as DEC is suggesting. Up the Lakers limit, try cage stocking, as done on the big O, and watch the silver fish come back in a few years time. I have mentioned cage stocking before, by never received any further thoughts. Would that be a good alternative?

  2. Thanks for updates! I wanted to attend myself, but was unable to make it. I have been on Kueka for the past 7 years. The important questions, as mentioned before need to be addressed a bit quicker it sounds. The stocking program must be a difficult project to manage, I am sure. I have kept a diary every year, and yes, the DEC will need all the data they can get. On the other hand, blaming lack of data over all these years, sounds like a bit of a cop out. I fished Lake O for 15 years prior to landing a cottage on Keuke. I watched the Salmon fishing go bust, do to false records and bad stocking, only to come back better then ever, with hard work and actions taken.

Has anyone talked to or has the DEC every thought about cage stocking in the FL's? Might offer a better return on percentage of fish reaching adulthood.

Thanks again for the updates. I hope the conversations continue and we can keep an organized effort to increase everyone's joy and usage of these lakes.

  3. Superhawk, keep them long and light. I am using 10 ft crappie rods on my DR's when I am fishing solo. They are not expensive and provide a nice fight with a 4 or 5 lb'r.

  4. I too have been on the hunt for others....besides the Lakers. They are few, for sure. I did pull a wonderful bow out from the eastern branch near Morgan's last year. Came as a surprise on a honey bee spoon. The shallow waters with planner boards work well this time of years. And, seems the flees have died down from keuka, for some reason currently.
