Good Day, anyone ever use a Lowrance HDS unit with a P66 transducer 50/200? Web site says it is an option. I am only interested in downward viewing for trolling at this point. The P66 is already on the boat. Also will be looking to hook up the Lowrance outboard cable driven auto pilot. Thanks for your feedback,

Tyee, so the HDS gets installed with no ducer? Just utilized for AP? Why the 9 if just AP?

Tyee - have you found your HDS-gen 2? I am looking for the same setup you are talking about. Lawrence cable steer kit ($1300) plus electronics. Curious about the firm/software update required? I would like to use Hummingbird for my FF and HDS-2 for AP control.

Cable only outboard here, so Todd, will be very interested in your findings, thanks all.

Good Day, looking for any feedback on a merc mechanic marina on keuke or canandaique. Looking for a 300 hr service on my 115hp. Seems the marina I have used in the past, is too busy to take my service request.

Good Day, just had to post the question. I have been researching too long and my head is spinning. Apologies if this subject has been discussed in detail, but I have not found it in the archives. Here is what I am looking to do:

Fingers only, trolling leadcore. Looking at 20lb braid backer with flouro leaders. Got it, just can not decide on braid color. Does it matter really with long leaders?

Fishmaster, what does your line chart say for 7 strand on a TAC 500? Not sure if I want to run 7 or 19. Thanks for the feedback.

Perfect info. Thanks guys, just what I needed. I fish the Fingers and have an open 500. The braided flea issue is what I am trying to avoid.  I suppose if I run the dispey at 175-300 max out, with the 500 19 st. I would be OK. not very deep, but deep enough for the Fingers (maybe).

19 strand wire for dispel - Tak 500lc capacity

Good Day, 

I am thinking of utilizing a Takoma 500lc for 19 strand wire, dispey setup. Looking forward into flea season, this may be a better setup then braid. I am having trouble finding line capacity for this reel with 19 strand. Take 500 info shows 285yds for #16 mono, if that helps. How much Torpedo 19 can I get on this reel?
