  1. Yeah yeah, ill save it for that too... But for now my internet and myself are quite concealed and waiting for a deer. Maybe its me, but if the weather were nicer I would be able to enjoy the nature around me a little easier.

I hit one this morning, was about 60 yards away in a lane through some light brush- was nice and calm put the sights on his vitals and squeezed the trigger... And pulled the trigger... And YANKED the trigger only to find that the bolt was only 99.9% forward. So I shoved it the rest of the way and right as I fired the thing jumped.

The deer hit the ground spun around and ran into a tree. It then got up and ran away. Walked over to the spot where we was and there was hair everywhere, on the trees ground etc. For a 6 ft radius. No blood. Found a 3" chunk of skin and hair about 3ft away. Guy said he saw the deer run past him and looked fine. Nice 8 pt.

I hate wounding any animal- worst feeling in the world. It was a clean shot but the thing got startled at the last moment.

I think the guy on the neighboring prperty got him cause there was a shot right after he ran over ther

  2. I just figured out I can post and read posts on my blackberry... Everything but participate in the shoutbox convos. It is raining and overall a dreary day. I am sitting in a tree stand in south goat country NY and able to see you guys bust ray's balls. Heaven help us...

  3. The browns I have been catching on the lake are very good eating, also the cohos. I have yet to keep any out of the streams, so i don't know how they are.

Basically, I don't want to be harassed about my fishing, just like I'm sure you don't - I don't think that's what the forum is for, as it is not a way to productively engage a 'discussion'. If it was a joke that's fine, but i don't know you or your style of humor  .

I am not the guy that zips fish open for the eggs, as a matter of fact i don't really even use eggs, i prefer drifting flies. For the amount of eggs i use i am better off going to buy them pre-tied (my first shot at salmon egg curing was a dud i think anyway :( )

Authoring posts like your first one suggests you're not 'all for keeping your limit' and that's why everyone took it the way they did, particularly when you are a charter captain taking people out to harvest fish.

I'm here mostly to make friends that share a common passion... fishing. If i can ever be a friend and help you out with anything let me know.

    Thanks for the apology. :)

  4. Thanks everyone. Its frustrating because i have posted and am very interested and plan to get involved in volunteering in the pen rearing projects, being an observer for the tourneys, etc. I am in the process of becoming an associate member in GCBA just to get involved in the fishery. Pen rearing directly helps charter captains like jax, who take people out who in total keep many more browns than the fish i have kept this season.

  5. okaaaaaayyy didn't think i would come under fire for keeping male fish that were within my limit. For your information i caught and released over 20 fish and only kept the ones that were injured or were males within my limit. If you read my other posts you will see that i regularly catch and release. I guess i got the wrong idea about posting here. Are you against charter fishing, or tourneys? Heaven forbid fish get killed and eaten in those situations.

We kept 6 fish between two guys....

Also, my family and i do eat the fish i keep. If i do not eat them within 4 months frozen i donate the fish to the soup kitchen in w. main in rochester. I am very conscious about the population in the streams i fish. This really puts me off to you 'holier than thou' people and i guess now we know who a few of them are.

If you are going to be a prick don't reply to my posts any more, simply PM me.

I was casting off shore on private property at a family members house.

    Thank you

    Matt
