  1. buy some wood dowels larger than the hole to be repaired. drill the hole to the dowel size then pack the hole with marine epoxy, coat the dowel with the same epoxy, tap it in and coat both sides with more epoxy. works good. a couple bourbons makes it easier than a couple beers.

  2. Well guys not much to report about. Made it down to Silver Lake a couple of weeks ago at first ice and got some Gills but didn't pound em. Yesterday afternoon I took the Boy to Braddocks for some Hot late afternoon Pike Fishin. Well it wasn't even lukewarm. Two hours and not a flag was seen on the entire bay. The boy was bored and now he hates Icefishing again. Oh well. Today January 28th I went down to the north end of Conesus Lake to pound on some gills. They were hitting really well unfortunately they were all small. Two might have kept. Might try it again this weekend if ice holds. If you see me out somewhere this season stop and say Hi. I will be the one with the black Steelers coat. Sorry Ravens fans I can't root for them this Sunday. See ya. Brian

but remember...if the niners win they will have as many wins as the stillers with no losses...not good;go ravens.

there were four of us in the boat. i have three musky rods so naturally the one using the 25 dollar spinning rod got bit. I did have it spooled with 50lb braid, thank god. It was quite a battle but we managed to boat her. We were at Lighthouse point over 13fow at 5:30 pm. He was throwing a 3" gold redeye. Despite the long fight the fish swam off instantly and fast. We fished some more this morning but it was slow, two follows,no takers. Water still murkey,53 degrees.

  4. you can catch some pike there this time of year around the yacht club mooring area. close to the city pier is good too. best bet is launch at severine pt. fish the dropoff there north to the next point. good numbers of stout pickles there as well. spoons are best for seneca pike;redeyes, johnsons, docktors, suttons.

  5. try the bay at the launch;lotta fish there some days. then go straight to the other side and work the weed edge north. you'll come up on a big white house that says "kosakas" on the breakwall. get inside the 3 hazard bouys there and you'll find a small cabbage patch in 3 or 4fow. usually get bit there.

  6. i was up there two weeks ago and got shut out again. i did hook one on a bondy near blanket island near bottom in 25fow. i saw one boated by trollers near whisky island. i don't know what they were using but there were no riggers on the boat and i worked that spot over pretty good after they left. it was 35fow. good luck.
