Quit fishing Ontario after my dad passed years ago. Sold the 24 foot boat and went smaller. Figured it was time to come back for some real fish again Fishing the" DEAD SEA" sacandaga res. is getting old. Bought and Islander and in the process of outfitting it.Posted a question on this old boat got lots of help.Good to be back TIM

Just got a great deal on a leftover 15hp mercury 4 stroke electric start. ordered a bracket for my Islander rated for 15 hp and 40 lbs more than the motor weighs. Small print on the motor bracket. Trailering with outboard mouned on th bracket not reccomended.I can't take it off every time i want to trailer it. It's an expensive, brand name prouct. Any Ideas? Can I just brace the motor from underneath?
