  1. What type of sliders are you referring to?  I run my sliders on the main fishing line, if I want to "fix" them at a certain depth, use the rubber band, or, the stinger style clip with the rubberized end that pinches to your main line.  I've never used a slider on the rigger cable itself.

The scotty clips work well also to stack an additional rod, or, fix your free slider.

  2. Wilson (tuscarora park) launch

Just a heads up to any one planning on using this launch...the far dock (loading) was underwater yesterday.  Bring boots or you'll have wet feet.  Also a lot of debris in the water.  We had to back my truck into the water to launch/load.

  3. link to same question from 2 months ago.  Lakeview motel puts you right in the middle of all the regular launches, with plenty of room for your rig and electric.  You'd better start calling today if you want a room for those dates, if any are still available.  most book up quick during the derby. They also let you store your boat if coming back to stay with them.  Nice perk if you fish several weekends in a row and have a long drive.  Best place to stay IMO.  Also have a common kitchen, grills, dining area, and an old freezer out back for your fish/ice.  Just bring groceries.

  4. A custom cover will last 10x longer and fit right. I tried a couple store brands..neither lasted 2 seasons. My oldest custom Cover is 9 years old and still going strong. Cost about the same as I spent on 2 poor quality ones. Amish shop in Conneaut pa made one for my 19ft for around $350.
