  1. the suckers i want to use a bigger than what bayside has. talked to them 3 years ago about special ordering 12-16" and they said all would have to do is pre-pay and give them a couple weeks to fill the order. never did go through and order 'em. ( went to o*#ka creek ) and got some for chautaqua. okay guys beat me up for that- outlaw musky fisherman!! lol.

  2. three years ago @ chaut i deeply hooked a smaller fish (around 32-33") on a bucktail. cut hooks and fish was bleeding really bad out of the gills, couldn't right itself when attempting to release it. tried for probally 1/2 hour and it didn't seem to be getting any better. the fish was done. too small to keep- had to leave it. what would u have done? so i know what its like also. only time this happened. really bothered me. i hope i never find out what musky tastes like, but in this matter it would have been a much better option than putting it back in the water dead. i release everything but walleyes!

  3. i dont know about the northern kings having to do anything w/ the name of it. there was an article in mh a few years back covering this set up and it explained the set up. i think king just sounds good, but maybe. anyone ever use those trolling leaders w/ the blade on them? i see alot like this but personally haven't used em.

  4. really neat when u can fish and there is a chance of winning something. i thought it was fun. when i found out that a 48" was in the lead, it just couldn't stop fishing. lost 2 others that day. btw- 3 hits on a black perch perchbait- 0 hits on a perch colored one 10 feet away from it all day. color preferrence??? one of the missed fish opened up the front treble hook- that has never happened to me before. next time there i will ripped dawgs through those deep baitfish forty feet down. all my hits came in water deeper than 30ft. when u put a spoon behind a crank its called the Berger King setup. in the 1000 islands dave berger has been doing this for a decade. he runs 10" believers w/ the back hook removed and 24-36" to the spoon. i guess they never hit the flutter spoon , believe there isn't even a hook on his spoons. never tried it. they also put the lure on the shallow setting behind a downrigger for better action. they say it has to be a really light spoon also. the 44" was off pt. chaut in 36 fow 5.1mph. crappy fight- came right in, took a run, netted it. next time in sept i will have my tuff shads in the water also since i will have a partner. gotta love em! legends, wileys and shads, its all i run. got tons of baits, but these always seem to work.
